Me too. And my astonishment that this can even happen. Shocked to say the least.

My guess is that it's probably similar to what happened with THE CROW and that the blank somehow launched some shrapnel. I assume that the barrel being blocked off just inside the frame of the firearm is still standard practice on prop guns...

I would need a really good therapist if I were Baldwin. Not his fault, but the enormous guilt I would feel would be unbearable.

1- There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I'm fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and

2- I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.

Agreed. My father quit driving semis when he was involved in an accident that killed a high school girl. He wasn't at fault and there was absolutely nothing he could do. Tried getting behind the wheel of a big rig once after it and was so terrified he has a nervous breakdown and a replacement driver hadto come out and finish the route. He was only three miles in.

He's been VERY early on the brakes ever since. (This happened in 1974, I think)

Sounds like Baldwin was told gun was safe, or cold, befire he fired.

yikes. Just devastating. He’s always lead a colorful life but this is gonna stick with him forever and is just devastating

Baldwin will be fine, it wasn't his fault and I'm sure he can rationalize it.

The props manager is the one I would worry about. It may really be their fault, and they probably don't have the superhuman ego and pomposity of an actor to protect them.
