Re: Movies 52 - 1917: Sonic the Bad Boys of Prey

This made me laugh way harder than it should have.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I love you my Bobby Boucher!!! You was robbed!! But Mama loves you!!! I learned a new urban slang word for you! You da GOAT!! <br>Not the one we eat at home, Son. ❤️😎🐐 <a href="https://t.co/2KDbfUjIXR">https://t.co/2KDbfUjIXR</a></p>— Kathy Bates (@MsKathyBates) <a href="https://twitter.com/MsKathyBates/status/1216778724609126405?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 13, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Now the question comes to mind - will Bobby Boucher keep to his threat and make the worst movie ever since he was snubbed for an Oscar?

He would have done that anyways. Sandler stopped being funny quite a while ago. (here and there he has an ok movie)

And he wasnt snubbed (in response to him not you) John Tuturro was by Sandler stealing his entire essence for the film. Carlos Mencia couldnt do as good of a job at stealing someone's bit. :D

Dennis Leary on line 1, sir.

Dennis Leary on line 1, sir.

Oh god dont tell me you are one of those clowns who say Leary ripped off Bill Hicks like Hicks invented the ranting angry guy bit. The Hicks disciples are so cute...

(nevermind the fact that Leary was doing the same types of jokes in the 1980s that Hicks's cronies accused him of stealing in the 1990s only with a terrible haircut)

Mencia flat out stole people's jokes (amongst other things) to the point that comedians used to signal other comics at clubs so they could all watch him do it. (Rogan tells great stories since he is often the guy and he was the one who outed him) Leary no more stole from Hicks than Robin Williams stole from the second rate comics in San Francisco. You might as well says they all ripped off Lenny Bruce and call it a day.

Leary isnt as good as his career, and Hicks isnt as good as people think he was.

Re: Movies 52 - 1917: Sonic the Bad Boys of Prey

There are side-by-side vids of Leary/Hicks. Leary was Mencia before Mencia. That being said, I still like Leary.

Seven Pounds:

An IRS agent with a dark secret tries to change some lives for the better.

Good drama, without being overly sappy. Will Smith shows some good range, Rosario Dawson (main supporting) and Owen Wilson (minor character, but he has the name) do well, too. It was genuinely touching at times, solid movie. You know there are people out there like Will Smith's character, who we never hear about, and that's the point, IMO. Do a good deed just to do a good deed, don't do it to be recognized.

speaking of, Mookie watched Every Which Way But Loose. classic awesome 70s movies when studios didn't need a remake or a sequel!!! movie has it all :p

and just to be up front, the other one was made in the 80s :)

It's fine. Last time I saw Craig do Bond, they'd pretty much evolved the character from being a total sex fiend to more of a suave, functional alcoholic type.

Bond was already a sensitive pansy with Dalton. With Brosnan he was a Lifetime lady's razor commercial and then with Craig he's a sexless sociopath who beats off late at night to Judy Dench.

The only believably and enjoyably sexual Bond was "if you give em the open hand it's not domestic violence" Zardoz.

Give it to Dinklage. The stunts would be amazing.

Of Fathers And Sons:

Talal Derki returns to his homeland of Syria where he gains the trust of a radical Islamist family making them think he is making a pro-jihadist movie, sharing their daily life for over two years.

Interesting documentary. Very few questions were asked by the director, it was just a lot of letting the camera roll. It's short, about 100 minutes, but worth a gander.

John Wick 3 is horrible.

And I liked the first two. This one isn’t just dumb, it strives to be everything awful about action movies from the last 20 years dumb. At least the choreography was nice. But that’s the only nice thing I can say about it.

Oh, and kitchen stadium guy was fun to see in a movie.

Edit: ok, the couch scene was great.
