I'm sure they covered their rears on this... I just find it interesting... Especially since I was on the opposite end of the taking pictures with out permission thing when the Dark Knight was filming in downtown Chicago in the Summer of 06 or 07. Ended up having to deal with a 45 minute ordeal involving Studio people and Chicago PD because I took photos from a public sidewalk down an alley where they were filming the scene where the Gotham Mayor had the assassination attempt done on him. You could clearly see the stage and all the props layed out. The filming wasn't active at that moment however and it was just crew around the set. But still had to get harassed by an overzealous studio dude. Thankfully the cop who the dude brought over seemed to have gotten tired of the studio guy being a dick and basically just made me delete the photos in front of him and then let me go on my way.

In hindsight I probably should/could have held my ground... But I didn't want to deal with that sort of thing and sure as hell didn't have a clue to my rights regarding public right of way and such, so I just did what the officer suggested...

As it relates here, I just figured that anyone that didn't want to be filmed would be able to just not sign the release and that would keep them from using the footage. I'm specifically referencing the scene in the new movie that involves Guliani. I know he's dumber than S*** but I figure there is no way in hell he's signing a release after being filmed in a hotel room.

I’d have told them to go fuck themselves

Capricorn One

nice idea, big time cast. But quite lazy and boring.

++ for quick early glimpse into OJ rage bonus

Hal was the bad guy in fletch lives....

Never forget Father Malone.

Borat 2 is great. Also a much better movie than the first one.

We just finished it too.

I was very, very uncomfortable. What an indictment of America. Where the previous one was just funny (which we watched last night; still very funny, but not really in an insightful way, just outrageous), this one was just a bit on the nose.

the old Jewish lady was a nice reminder there are good people left.

the first text after the final scene was a perfect as well.

OK well now I gotta watch it. Tonight we're watching "Vice" which is also good, basically by the Big Short folks but about Cheney.

Glenn wants her that Oscar!

I just saw Amy Adams is tied for second most actress losses without winning with 6, coming in second to Glenn Close with 7. And who are the leads in Hillbilly Elegy? Those two! I guess the Erin Brokovich / Blind Side route is seen as the key to winning.

Yeah...and don't forget the song!

What they don't know is he was often speaking Hebrew in the film.

Yeah, they carried that joke along from the first one. In the first he’s speaking Hebrew when his assistant is speaking Armenian. In this one he’s still speaking Hebrew and his daughter is speaking Bulgarian. They do a great job of acting as though they understand each other.

The q-anon indoctrinated dudes lecturing him about a conspiracy theory Kazakhstan made him believe was gold. Truly a great film.

Americans haven’t a clue.

man with the golden gun, when bond meets his colleagues nieces in the car - one says hi in Thai, one in Chinese. Like it matters :D

Yeah the gf gut laughed hard at that! Those guys were interesting.

the only bad part of the film was the Black Lady who was lecturing the daughter. That went on too long and dragged. Everything else moved so fast it just felt off. The ending where he figures everything out though was outstanding :)

I forgot he did the Hebrew bit in the first one...havent watched it since I saw it in the theaters.

The whole movie is great. The scene with the black woman is brilliant, too, because that is skewering two cliches: "lifelong oppressed person in bondage being led out of the wilderness by liberal savior," and also "magic negro." She was one of my favorite parts of the movie.

I thought the qanon dudes must have been part of the bit. The scary thing is all that stuff in Olympia (the song) was real as a heart attack -- I saw an interview with the camera crew where they basically escaped the parking lot about a step ahead of those gun-wielding small-d-cked Nazis a la Blues Brothers. They said it was the only time during the filming where they actually felt they were in mortal danger.

Those guys have some balls, and so do their lawyers.

I also think it's funny (and part of the parody of Americans, except this time the joke is on us the audience) that the Kazakhstan scenes are all filmed in Romania, which is like shooting a film set in Switzerland in Kentucky.

Cohen said that while he was arrested a lot of times making the first one, this one he legitimately was afraid for his life a few times and wore armor under his costume during those.

The song bit went viral when it happened. Someone taped it and put in on youtube I think and there were articles about it in the clickbait press. Hell I am pretty sure it was posted here and everyone thought he did it as a random troll move not as part of a new movie.

And I should have said the Black Lady was great, the scene just felt out of place cause it goes really long. That is why we both thought it was one of the most "meh" in the film. "Bad" was the wrong term.
