True. A lot of those cantankerous old person(like me)roles.

His acting in My Darling Clementine, Meet John Doe*, and Treasure of the Sierra Madre is outstanding.

* "You're walking along, not a nickel in your jeans. You're free as the wind, nobody bothers ya. Hundreds of people pass you by in every line of business: shoes, hats, automobiles, radios, everything. They are all nice lovable people, and they lets you alone, is that right?

Then you get a hold of some dough and what happens? All those nice sweet lovable people become helots -- a lotta heels. They begin to creep up on ya, trying to sell ya something. They get long claws and they get a stranglehold on ya, and you squirm and you duck and you holler and you try to push them away, but you haven't got a chance.

They gots ya.

First thing ya know, you own things. A car, for instance. Now, your whole life is messed up with a lot more stuff. You get license fees, and number plates, and gas and oil and taxes, and insurance and identification cards, and letters and bills and flat tires and dents and traffic tickets and motorcycle cops and tickets and courtrooms and lawyers and fines and a million and one other things.

What happens? You're not the free and happy guy you used to be. You need to have money to pay for all those things, so you go after what the other fella's got.

And there you are.

You're a helot yourself."

El vampiro negro.

I had never heard of this Argentine noir before. My TV defaults to TCM and it happened to be on, so I sat down for enough of it to realize some things:

1. Everybody who likes films should see this.
2. It's M, almost shot-for-shot. So if you like stories about pedophiles and street justice, this is for you.
3. Holy fuck, every scene of this movie is cinematically beautiful. This is one of the most the most beautifully and intelligently filmed movies I've ever seen. It's in the league with Last Year at Marienbad or The Third Man. I had never even heard of the director and I am therefore an ignoramus.
4. The lead (Olga Zubarry) is interesting, too. I really need to see more of her work.

The Weird Al movie is the greatest parody that has ever been made.

I will need to see it, I love Al. I'll never forgive the No Fun League for slighting him. That would have been the greatest SBHTS ever.

I love Spinal Tap...but Al is my youth so I am totally biased. What Spinal Tap is for the music documentary "Weird" is to the musical biopic! Its ridiculous on a level you can't even imagine.

And yes Weird Al as the half time show would have been great! I have seen him twice his show is awesome!
