Anyone seen this new Cobain doc Soaked in Bleach? Should I bother?
As a rule, I avoid reading or watching anything related to his death unless it's well-vetted. There's way too much conspiratorial/cash grab crap out there.
I never liked Holyfield...he was one of the many were the poster boys for what killed Heavyweight boxing. Lots of standing around throwing two punches and never doing anything. His fights would maybe have 2 good rounds and the rest was just one punch, defense. Two punch, defense. Lewis was the same way. Add in fat shlubs like Riddick Bowe and it just got worse. None of those guys screamed Heavyweight Champ to me.
That happened a lot...like Obiwon not recognizing R2 and 3PO in ANH. Or how in Empire he says Yoda instructed him and then n he prequels we learn Qui-Gon did.
Well, the Qui-Gon vs. Yoda thing gets explained away a little in that Yoda taught all the rug rats until they were far enough along to hand off to a master handling missions. As to the droids, that can be a simple situation of Obi-Wan never having owned either of them and then just playing it cool upon just meeting Luke. That doesn't bug me as it could be a simple character idiosyncrasy thing in order to get Luke to join him (really trying to be kind on that point), but some things such as a candid conversation between two peers on a subject they were both intimately involved with, those things are just too contradictory to not get called out.
Yep. He created an entire galaxy to work with - and then went to ridiculous lengths to insist that everything of importance, ever was done by the same 5 characters.Oh I have seen some funny convoluted ways fanboys have excused certain things. Some people will do anything to not admit how ridiculous parts of the movies were. If you really want to get the freaks angry ask why Vader never thought to look on Tatooine ever...I mean he only came from there
BTW I dont think Yoda taught Obiwon as a youngling since he was Qui-gon's Padawan...much like Anakin was Obiwon's. Anakin was never taught by Yoda either. (I am sure I could find that info somewhere...but my geekdom only goes so far)
Lucas had this ridiculous idea of needing to connect everything, show it as one long epic that flowed like a river. Problem was the more he connected things the more the vagaries that made the original trilogy cool and mysterious became stupid and massive plotholes.

Obi-Wan and Yoda both knew about Luke and Leia in Revenge of the Sith, thoroughly involved in the plan of hiding Leia and turning Luke into bait...

Yoda pretty much instructed everyone. He's the wise old guy who has a tidbit of wisdom anytime he walks into the room. It's about as much a stretch to say he was taught by Yoda as to say Darth Vader killed Anakin. That happened a lot...like Obiwon not recognizing R2 and 3PO in ANH. Yoda: Told you I did. Reckless is he. Now, matters are worse.
Obi-Wan: That boy is our last hope.
Yoda: No. There is another.
