I don't know what Kimi and Max are doing, but they cannot figure out starts with this car. At this point it's either yips or just something they can't fundamentally do correctly. Which is funny to say for Max who is about as calculated as a racer can be.Front row for the GP tomorrow haven’t had great starts this season. Should get interesting immediately.
You mean av fuel. There's no lead, or even need of lead, in jet fuel. Let alone a small piston jet, chuckle...Learned today that NASCAR didn't stop using leaded gasoline until 2007.
And that it's still used in small piston jet fuel.
Cup series used a carburetor until 2012, and Grand National and Truck Series didn't move to fuel injection until recently.Learned today that NASCAR didn't stop using leaded gasoline until 2007.
F1 has gotten really lucky with the weather in Miami the last few years. They're finally getting to experience normal Miami weather.F1 race moved up to 1pm ET due to forecast of thunderstorms rolling in after 3pm.
Sorry, triple post. What a fun race to watch! The drama of the start, Lawson being an idiot, the battling for positions after pitstops. Verstappen going 49 laps on one set of tires. And then the last lap with Leclerc spinning!
Can't wait for the post-race press quotes from the drivers who hated this race.![]()
The more I watch the replay, the more I think that was on Gasly.Lawson being an idiot
Now that I've seen the replays a few times, I agree. I will admit that I missed seeing it live as my feed crapped out before that and made the judgement solely on commentary I saw on social media and the lap-by-lap feed on the F1 website. The more I watch the replay, the more I think that was on Gasly.
Max isn't wrong...Now that I've seen the replays a few times, I agree. I will admit that I missed seeing it live as my feed crapped out before that and made the judgement solely on commentary I saw on social media and the lap-by-lap feed on the F1 website.
I laughed at Sainz spouting off about Max having to beat and bang on everything thinking the midfield would just roll over for him, and Max's reply that the midfield was "a jungle."
Also seemed like a LOT of teams were having gearbox issues. Wasn't Antonelli having problems too, and he won!
I think the only way this happens is if there is some kind of hybrid component. And that may soften the sound a bit.The Race is reporting that a return to v8s is pretty certain, the biggest questions of when- 2030 or 2031, and hybrid content.
Having seen the v8s live, I honestly don’t get the appeal, as they are so very very loud. If you don’t have protection, you will have damage. They sound cold initially, but it doesn’t take long until it’s just too much.
I never believed Cadillac was going to come up with an engine in 2029, spending all that money for just two years. I always believed that was a bluff to get in, and then they would actually come up with an engine to whatever the next set of rules are. So, I think Cadillac would be more than happy to rush the next ruleset in, and then they will announce that is the one we are building to, screw 2029.Wonder how much resistance Cadillac would put up, or if they would push to just make the switch early as long as they don't waste development time since they want to make their own power train by 2029.
