MN Gophers @ tUMD Bulldogs: Sibling Rivalry!

Re: MN Gophers @ tUMD Bulldogs: Sibling Rivalry!

Q
A. Gorg is a windbag, but I don't need him to tell me what I saw with my own two eyes. It was a terrible call, goal should have counted.
B. The Duluth waved-off goal was a good call. If you really want to push it, that should have been goalie interference also, using the previous waved-off goal as an example.
C. The vast majority of us are not blaming the loss on the refs. We are however blaming them for a key bad call that changed a few minutes of hockey, where in that time, the game took a pretty big turn.[/QUOTE

A. That was not a goal, because it was a prime example of goal tender interference, therefore it was penalty. You can' t count a goal when a penalty has been called. Everyone keeps saying how it was overturned, it was never overturned because it was never a goal to began with. And don' t even begin to say he was pushed, it wasn't even close. It was a good call, so much so Lucia himself didn't even raise his arms, question, react or call the refs over to the bench.

Re: MN Gophers @ tUMD Bulldogs: Sibling Rivalry!

Admittedly I called it a bad call at the outset. That being said it wasn't a goal. Unfortunate for White that the stupidity of Sachetti caused his goal to be waved off but it happens.

Re: MN Gophers @ tUMD Bulldogs: Sibling Rivalry!

I can't understand why a Gopher fan would be upset with the officiating last night. If you would have actually watched the game you would have seen that the gophs should have been on the pk for majority of the third period. The amount of holding/hooking/interference that you got away with was outrageous.

You mean like when ConnElly dropped his stick, tripped over the blue line, and we got called for tripping?

Like I've said, MN lost the game themselves, but Don Adam sure as heck didn't help any.

No I mean when Brown gets thrown down in the slot, interfered with and hooked when he got a semi break away, Flaherty getting cross checked from behind, I can't even remember how many times Jack Con got held up, not to mention two blaitant trips of M. Conz in the same shift. Also nice call on the tripping the goalie on Grun. Get real man, Adam's helped you guys a lot last night.

Don Adams is an equal opp. official. Always has been. You always know when he's officiating because he never has any control over what is happening.

Actually, I thought the call on Grun was legit. The whole swallowing the whistle for the last half of the 3rd last night was frustrating, because things were let go that were called Friday.

I'll agree with you there Scoobs, the guy is awful. But I don't know how you can watch that game and think penalties should be 7-7. UofM was clearly outskilled and to compensate for that it look like the NHL in the mid nineties.

Ummmm what?? We see the same play?? Grun never touched Paterson. His skate missed him by 8 inches.

As someone who watched last night's game on cable with zero rooting interest, it was clear Minnesota got absolutely jobbed on that no-goal call. Just sayin'.

As if your opinion holds any weight.

Brent will never let it go and will continue to be wrong. That's cool, though. Poor Patrick White. Can't find the back of the net with a map and then Sacchetti wrecks it for him when he finally does.

Mike Connolly is awesome. Even his empty netter was a beauty. Fairchild's jock is still lying on the ice.

This.
Please note I am NOT saying the Gophers lost because of it. If the Gophers didn't want to lose, they shouldn't have given up the 4th goal....or 5th goal.........or 6th goal.

As far as the no-calls against the Gophers in the third, it seemed pretty obvious to me that the officiating crew realized they totally screwed the Gophers on White's goal, and were trying to make up for it. And that is never a good thing.

Also, Patterson took a total dive on that penalty.

Yeah ok, or when david grun was camped out front of the net on the PP and was 2ft away from patterson when he suddenly caught a rut and fell on his ***! They called Grun for a trip. THE gophs got away with quite a bit of calls. Don't go saying the refs didn't help your cause, because if that's the case, they didn't help UMD Either! You got flat out Beat!

Re: MN Gophers @ tUMD Bulldogs: Sibling Rivalry!

It must be nice to live in a world where making **** up out of thin air and then spending the time to put together an entire composition based on it seems like a reasonable thing to do.

I think what makes me most upset about this whole weekend is that I actually clicked on the link and gave another hit to that piece of ****, waste of internet space blog thus over-inflating an already undeserved sense of self worth.

Someone has a not-so-secret admirer!
