MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Where was this Gopher team two months ago? They are playing better but defensively they still need to get rid of the lapse of poor judgement.

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

I wouldn't be surprised to see St. Cloud get out of Denver with the majority of points.
DU has been slumping lately as their young goaltender is starting to show his age, and SCSU was picked to finish 1-3 in the league by virtually everyone in the pre-season for a reason. St. Cloud has been dysfunctional as hell this year, but they have some pretty good talent on that team. They have been showcasing it much more over the second half.

DU has certainly had their struggles lately mainly because they're still a relatively young team especially on their backline and goalie. 7 SHG on the season:eek:, PP woes and not getting the early lead have been the major issues lately. But take away the 2 shorties and the ENG last weekend against UNO and DU has 3-4 pts on the road.

DU has been tough at home though (13-3-2) and I fully expect Gwoz to have his team ready to defend home ice against a SCSU team that had shown a tendency to have mental lapses on D and consistently blow leads.

DU always seems to find a way. Dunno how, but they do. SCSU looks like they are playing like they were expected to play (they were who we THOUGHT they were! [also applies to WI]).

3 points is expected at minimum. 4 isn't gravy, but it's in the back of every Gopher fan's mind. In some fans' minds, it's in the forefront.

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Picture a webcast-quality video (including occasional choppiness in the picture) blown up on an HDTV. Add poor and inconsistent audio (although to be fair, the Sioux Network's audio is also like that when FCS shows their games), and it ends up being a poor broadcast. I honestly thought it was a student-produced broadcast (which I believe the Mankato broadcasts are).

Now, if MN isn't playing BSU, I will check in once a while to see those broadcasts, simply because it's more hockey to watch. But when I have a better alternative (even if you include TV Voice LaPanta), I'll take it.

Are you watching it on Lakeland or TPT? I get both on DirecTV, Lakeland is a little better, but the SD does drop the quality a lot, especially on a HDTV. Looks good on my old SD TV though. I've also watched it in HD in Bemidji and it looks great. I'm trying to think of a way to take the audio from Lakeland and watch the FSN video.

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Will the Beavers be clean shaven or hairy for Senior night? Are the Beavers ready for some pounding? Will the Beavers be using wood sticks?

With a strong forecheck and constant pounding I feel the Beavers will lay down and submit to our deep penetration into the zone, which should lead to some great scoring chances on these Beavers.

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Jane Russell was from Bemidji, now that has to count for something!

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Out of curiosity, what's your complaint? Quality of pic, camera work or something else? We get it in HD up here, but I know non-HD can be a bit annoying - I almost refuse to watch non-HD programming at this point (especially since I get something like 90+ HD channels on Dish)...

Moose, flip over to Lakeland MN and take a look next time. It's pretty bad. Having said that, we have Lakeland Prime (HD) here in Brainerd and people complain about the video quality too.

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Welcome??? You boys are at the end of the "welcome" line. We've already welcomed them to the Big Boys' Club....four times! :p :D

The Gopher will give them a much nicer welcome though, they'll get beat by Bemidji.

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

Apparently UMTC is more interested in arrogance than in wins. All jersey pop, no substance. :D

Just wait until we beat you in the F5, provided there is a matchup.

Titles are all that matter, right? Well, we have a shot this year, just like you. ;)

Re: MN @ BSU: Wide-eyed Rookies Vs. Grisled Veterans!

A team that could only split with MN at home. :p

Here's hoping for round three in a Friday night semifinal at the X. :D

And what a war that will be if we can make that far. In a rivalry like that at the F5, it's the best clash of the tournament and anybodies game.

The best team in the league.

Well, good luck with the MacNaughton curse. True to tradition under Hak, UND's annual self immolation will rear its ugly head again causing UND fans to convulse with heinous lamentations and SERIOUSLY question his ability to win the big one. And rightly so I might add.

If they make the F4, they'll draw BC again. :p
