MLB 2025: The Dodgers vs The Field

So, the Dodgers have this Japanese guy who will pitch 96 one day and more the next day, while every other pitcher in MLB will pull themselves after 5 and 1/3.
Dude just straight up wins.

2 World Series
1 Japan Series
1 Olympic Gold
1 World Baseball Classic

Wild how many things fell just right for the Dodgers the last couple nights. Ball gets lodged in a pad, catcher's cleat comes down on the plate just before the runner makes it, and outfielders collide and still catch the ball.

Regarding my the outfielders, it helps when one of them is half midget.

Hopefully LA wins the next one too! #GoTeamSalaryCap
I’m not in favor of a salary cap anymore. The way so many teams just don’t fund operations and just mooch off MLB shared revenue is ridiculous.

Once owners like the Pohlads are gone then we can talk.

The dodgers’ ownership has done absolutely nothing wrong. It’s an incredibly well-run org.

I’m not ever rooting for them but it’s really hard to fault them.

Trevor May did an interesting video on the subject.

Basically, it takes so damn long for a MLB player to hit free agency, they usually are 27-30, it incentivizes taking the biggest contract they can get.

Yeah it’s really unlike any other sport and frankly I think to its own detriment. I’d hate to see the collapse of the minor league teams though. Town ball is a national treasure not terribly unlike some of the club soccer feeder orgs.

Shitty owners will always exist, but a cap will allow the middle teams to compete. I'm good with a floor too. I'm not OK with a team deferring payment of the highest paid player in the game.

I don't think there's any need to collapse the minor leagues but there needs to be some sort of way to accrue service time through time in the minors.

Wow!
