I thought the Phillies would be in the same boat, but somehow they started terribly, then made it to .500 in 1922 before being awful again. The Mets have never been over .500 all-time. Never.
I grew up a White Sox fan because of my dad and do at least follow how they are doing. Though the last several years there hasn't been anything worth following. Many years ago, I also decided that if I had to root for a National League team, it would be the Pirates*. I sure do know how to pick them. The White Sox being the team to do it amuses me.
Looks like they look at it more by year, or rather did. The White Sox hosted in 1983, so 50 years. And again in 2003, 70 years. 2033 would be good but yeah, I could see them dropping the ball on that.Wrigley will get the ASG in 2027.
If MLB cares about tradition (which they increasingly don’t), they’ll be back in Chicago on the Southside for the 100th, but there’s a catch of what counts as the 100th. The 100th year would be 2033, but because they played two games a year from 59-62, and didn’t play any game in 1945 or 2020, the 100th game would be in 2030.
1990. The A's last hosted in 1987, but not since...for obvious reasons. The Blue Jays last hosted in 1991. Baltimore (1993) and Boston (1999) are next longest since last host. Tampa Bay has never hosted. Unless they get a deal set and build a new park, I doubt they ever will. Even if they get Tropicana repaired and use it again.Wrigley hasn't hosted since what, the late 80's/early 90's? It's about time.
Tampa is moving to Jacksonville.....Tampa Bay has never hosted. Unless they get a deal set and build a new park, I doubt they ever will. Even if they get Tropicana repaired and use it again.
I thought Orlando was the likely spot.Tampa is moving to Jacksonville.....
