MLB 2025: The Dodgers vs The Field

And, because existence is pain for all things Mariners, the M’s will win 90 games and somehow miss the playoffs next season.

I'd rather not talk about that scenario, for obvious reasons.

We have a good club. There are plenty of areas that can be improved. The off-season will be fun.

Except now it’s the classic Mariners dilemma: Will ownership actually spend the money?

May the fleas of a thousand camels nest in the crotch of everyone rooting for the LA dollars.
Yes because our saving grace from the evils of the LA Dodgers is…

The team from one of the largest media markets on the continent, owned by one of the largest media conglomerates on the continent, and whose key player was a notable beneficiary of one of the most notorious cheating scandals in the sport.

Don’t be salty because the Dodgers are doing the exact same thing the Red Sox are doing, just better (the Red Sox have deferred contracts too).

I don’t give a hell how big the market is. All I care about is they are traditionally playing third fiddle in their division and haven’t been there since ‘93. Springer is a dink, I’ll give you that.

I don’t hate the Dodgers as much as many, but I’m still not rooting for them. Only reason I can fathom is if they go on a dynasty run it’ll force change.

NL fan gonna NL, not sorry.

The only NL teams I will against in the WS are Miami, Colorado, Arizona (fake), Milwaukee (carpetbaggers), and Atlanta (more evil than Hitler). And whoever plays Seattle when it finally happens with one exception.

The AL blow-ow-ow-ows.

I don’t really care about AL/NL, I just don’t like the Blue Jays. They’re evil but they’re the worst kind of evil, the one that puts on the facade of good.

Beyond what’s already mentioned, large market, conglomerate ownership, they’ve also engaged in underhanded tactics in order to secure the Canadian market for themselves. They played a part in shipping the Expos off to Washington and they had a part in Edmonton and Calgary losing their AAA teams. They keep a lone High A team in Vancouver simply to keep the Mariners out of BC even though the M’s had long had a fanbase in BC. And I bet they pull similar moves to keep others out as well. Then they rely heavily on nationalist, dare I say jingoistic, marketing to essentially guilt Canadians into being Jays fans.

But then they try to present themselves as this scrappy, woe is us underdog. Yeah, an underdog with the 5th highest payroll.

The Blue Jays are like the megachurch of MLB teams, greedy and ruthless while trying to present themselves as pious angels. At least the Yankees and Dodgers have the courtesy of embracing their evil.

Make no mistake, I'd don't give a rats ass about the Red Sox. I would't care if they went 0-162.
