MLB 2022: Playing Ball, But Is Anyone Still Watching?

On Wednesday Javy Baez didn’t even try tag up from third in a game they ended up losing in extras.

Yesterday he started pimping a hit that could’ve been a triple, but he thought it was a homer and only started running once he realized it wasn’t going out. Then he got doubled up the next play because be thought there were two outs on a fly ball and he took off.

Today he blamed yesterday’s antics on batting 6th in the lineup, and that it wouldn’t have happened had he been 3rd, even though he’s batting .122 with one RBI on the season.

Sounds like El Mago hasnt learned a thing. When he's fire, he's fire. When he's not, he's a complete train wreck.

Bullet dodged. Thank you, Eppler.

Being on the Cubs roster he was on helped mask those brain farts. He still had Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, etc. to cover. He doesn't have that on the Tigers. They have a releic in Miggy and.... that's it.

Could the Mets have the supporting cast to mask him? Yes. Would he have frustrated Mets fans and they'd be calling for his head in the Post? Also yes.

Most would’ve been fine with benching him, but Hinch decided to play Baez last night and it paid off. 2/3 with two BBs, two RBIs as they win on a walk-off. He was batting so bad his average jumped 60 points just getting three hits the last two games.

Baez with another good game as the Tigers walk off SF in extras for the second day in a row.

And the Jays beat the Rays again. Tampa still undefeated in the US.

Red Sox rally for 3 in the 8th to beat the Angels.

Single
Catcher's Interference
Strikeout
Catcher's Interference
2-Run Single
Fly Out
Hit by Pitch
Bases Loaded Walk
Ground Out

Two catcher's interference calls in the same inning? And a 3rd one earlier in the game on the Red Sox? I don't know that I've seen that called 3 times in the last decade, let alone 1 game.
