MLB 2022: Playing Ball, But Is Anyone Still Watching?

Why is Opening Day not on a Saturday?

Because opening day is a virtually guaranteed sellout on a weekday and they don't want to waste that on a weekend that will already have higher attendance.

also, they build in an off day for rainouts for many opening day games, and if you put it on a Saturday then you'd be leaving Sunday open.

Similarly, Friday-Sunday is a traditional 3-game set. Thursday-Sunday with Friday off keeps the normal travel window. Saturday- Tuesday with Sunday off means you gotta immediately squeeze in a two-game set.

Twins start with back to back 2-0 shutouts.

On the other side of the spectrum, the Phillies are at a -17 run differential after giving up 27 runs to the Rangers in the first two games.

Tigers have a franchise worst -18 run differential after the first three games. This beat out their previous worst of -15 through three games, set last year.

I'm impressed with two things:

The Mets being so light *with* Vogelbach on the roster.
Thr Brewers being so heavy *without* Vogelbach on the roster.
