As I eluded to the "Greatest Franchises" thread, I have applied my formula that I used for ranking college hockey programs and NFL franchises to baseball. Similar to the football unveil, I thought people may be interested in having a "Top 10 Contest." Given the holidays, I'll give everyone until January 5, 2018 to make their predictions, and then I'll start unveiling the teams with the hope of finishing the list before Spring Training.
Nazi alert- check meaning of eluded.
Nazi alert
There was one MLB game in November. Did all the LA people drive over to Vegas and bet against Yu Darvish?Nevada sportsbooks lost $11.4 million on baseball in November -- the largest baseball loss in a month for the state's regulated books, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

It's certainly possible that's the reason. Probably can be the only explanation, although it's a little strange. Houston was about 15/1 to win the WS at the beginning of the year. I think Kansas City was 30/1 when they won it a couple of years ago, and the last game of that series was in November. San Francisco was 20/1 in 2010 and finished in November. As I recall, SF was quite a bit back at mid-season that year as well.Lots of action on the Caribbean playoffs.
Maybe there was a lot of money on the 'Stros at long odds? When a long term bet pays out (say a bet placed in March on the World Series champ) does it register at the point it was placed or the point it was paid?
If it's at the point of pay out then all the other team bets closed in October as those teams were eliminated, pumping up the House, except the Dodgers, leaving the one November payout to show an artificial "loss."
Holy crap -- I think I figured it out!
