MLB 2017: Playoffs, World Series, and Off-season.

Re: MLB 2017: Playoffs, World Series, and Off-season.

How bout change nothing. If you don't want to watch baseball because you think 3 hrs is too long, don't. Not everything requires a "fix".

Re: MLB 2017: Playoffs, World Series, and Off-season.

Maybe if they didn't need three plus minutes between every half inning for commercial breaks, that would cut down on the length of games.

Seems like the un-televised getaway day games always got done 20+ minutes sooner than televised games.

Which market do you live in that doesn't televise day games?

Even without TV radio still has ads. Ban the ads. Also, ban the ads for everything. Thank you.

PBS does not broadcast MLB. If they did, the 20 minute pledge break after the 5th inning would make the games just as long.

Charge me a fee for the station and give me my broadcast without the consumerist propaganda.

We've had that crap pouring into our ears and eyeballs all our lives and we wonder why we're f-cked up?

We laugh at this and call it messed up, but we have been inundated with far more of this brain-melting garbage. All. Our. Lives.

End advertising.

BBC license fee?????

Charge me a fee. I understand stuff has to be paid for. But my attention is not to be pried open by those f-cks. I get along quite well in my life without ever seeing any of their crap that I can shut off. I immediately mute / fast forward all advertising at my home and I do my best to do the same whenever possible at work. Advertising is rape.

Find another way to pay for stuff. You can have my money, he who steals my purse steals trash. You can't have my head. Nothing you have in exchange is worth it. When I get that time machine, before Hitler I take out Edward Bernays.

I was wondering the same thing. Is there a team that doesn't televise all of their games? If so, color me quite surprised. This ain't 1988 anymore, when Tom Browning can pitch a perfect game and neither the Reds or the Dodgers are televising the game, despite the fact it was played between a first place and second place team fighting each other in the closing weeks of a pennant race.

Re: MLB 2017: Playoffs, World Series, and Off-season.

I'd prefer a tie to this sh-t, but the NHL has already decreed that Americans are too dumb and immature to handle ties.

Yup. I honestly think my withering interest in the NHL started after about 2 years of the shootout and the loser point. By adding more teams to the postseason and changes to extra innings (this will happen in MLB within 2 years) the same thing will finally happen to baseball.

Bottom of 10th:
Sac bunt as above
Sac fly as above
Well look at that, we're tied again.

since rules are changing in overtime.

only allow 2 outs.
strike 2 and yer out.

(see how fun this is :D)

It's interesting you state this, because for me, the shootout didn't bother me when it was implemented and still doesn't. Which is odd, because I don't agree with the shootout. (Though, seeing it in person was more fun and entertaining than I ever thought it would be.)

However, the loser point gnaws at me like nothing else in life. Going to a three-point system would be fine with me, but what the NHL has now for their points system is complete sh*t.

Better yet, one ball and it's a walk. That will make pitchers have to throw hittable balls or walk in a run on just four pitches. Yeah, this is fun...

They want more scoring, so 9 outs. And replace the catcher with a couple of sticks in the ground.
