Red Sox and Yankees go 19. For the first time in years the game actually deserves the attention it gets.
Also went to my first minor league action of the year last night. Lansing Lugnuts (TOR) had their season opener yesterday against Lake County (CLE). It's their 20th anniversary so yesterday they had tickets priced at what they were back in '96, so I got a couple seats 8 rows behind home for 5.50, normally those are around 13 or so. Unfortunately, they kept food prices the same, so despite sharing a drink food actually ended up being more than the tickets.
Pretty uneventful game really. An hour rain delay, cold, windy, ended 3-2, there were a couple doubles but besides that no incredible plays. The city is adding apartments in the outfield, which set off renovations all around the stadium, really making improvements. I guess I never realized how much was behind the production of these minor league games, though. I usually go to Whitecaps (DET) games, and while they do have interns doing things, a lot of the promotions and on-field events are done by regulars and it makes a HUGE difference.
