Red Sox and Yankees go 19. For the first time in years the game actually deserves the attention it gets.

Also went to my first minor league action of the year last night. Lansing Lugnuts (TOR) had their season opener yesterday against Lake County (CLE). It's their 20th anniversary so yesterday they had tickets priced at what they were back in '96, so I got a couple seats 8 rows behind home for 5.50, normally those are around 13 or so. Unfortunately, they kept food prices the same, so despite sharing a drink food actually ended up being more than the tickets.

Pretty uneventful game really. An hour rain delay, cold, windy, ended 3-2, there were a couple doubles but besides that no incredible plays. The city is adding apartments in the outfield, which set off renovations all around the stadium, really making improvements. I guess I never realized how much was behind the production of these minor league games, though. I usually go to Whitecaps (DET) games, and while they do have interns doing things, a lot of the promotions and on-field events are done by regulars and it makes a HUGE difference.

Red Sox / Yankees once again prove they don't care about pace of play. 7 hours! Letting the other team tie the game to extend it further! :D ;)

3 blown saves. Thank goodness I snoozed off in the ninth inning.

In 1967 the Red Sox played the Yankees in a doubleheader at the old Yankee Stadium. I went with my grandfather when I was 12 at the time. Sox won the 1st game with Lonborg winning. Then Sox lost the 2nd game in 18 innings. I guess this was like a payback for that game. 67' was the "Impossible Dream" season for the Red Sox after a bad previous season in the cellars.

I was also a 12 year old there with my brother and uncle. We left game 2 early (I think after Steve Whitaker's HR) and got back to NJ in time to see the end on WPIX.

No home tv for Twins today. Probably a good thing. Cain just crushed a 2R HR in the 1st inning.

I know it's cheaper to air taped material on TV versus live programming, but how do any Major League sports teams not have 100% of their games available to watch?

Twins might mess around and win 2 of 3 vs KC.

Eta... Duensing comes in to let KC get back in the game. Time for Perkins to try. What a clown show!
