So if it is Cubs/Mets for the NLCS, how many black kitty cats get smuggled into the games held at City Field :D

Cubs pwned the Mets this year, 7-0, and the Mets are banged up. I'm more worried about the Dodgers.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

That was the first and only post season series win for the Cubs in Wrigley Field. Ever.

Actually, lots of shelters lock down any black cats around this time of year. Too many weirdos adopting or abducting them off the streets and sacrificing them. Not kidding.

Exactly. At Faithful to Felines, the shelter I volunteer for, puts a hold on black cats until after Halloween.

I think I would be, too, especially with the Dodger rotation. Sooner or later, Kershaw is going to Kershaw in the postseason, and I wouldn't want to be in the other dugout when he does.

He Kershawed tonight.

No, no. I mean a 8 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 38 strikeout kind of night. He's going to come out and absolutely torch someone's lineup once or twice, and given the rest of that rotation, that might be fatal to a team's title chances.

If the Cubs win the World Series there will be nothing left north of the loop except a charred brick wall with a solitary flag pole with a white "W" flag on it...

Which is a brilliant idea, because then the Rickett's family can claim the insurance money and build a modern ballpark like they want.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

ESPN made a bad 30 for 30 on it. They said the radio had a slight delay from what was on the field, so he never heard the commentary of Alou coming over.
I didn't think it was that bad of a 30 For 30. A fair amount of unseen information, such as Bartman's escape from Wrigley, comments from fans (some of them real jerks) sitting in the section, and the added feature of having a film being made that very night out in the bleachers, giving us access to that footage.

As for the headphones issue, if you're at a game and a baseball is heading towards you and you have a chance to make a play on it, the last thing you are going to do is listen to the play by play on your headphones. At that point I would bet Bartman's awareness of other things going on in the stadium was about nil, as would anyone's.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

I can't believe what I just saw.

The ball was live, but home plate ump Dale Scott killed the play before the run scored.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

Don't want to see a potential series winning run scored like that

I guess I'll have to watch it again. When it premiered there was a bunch of hype and rumors that Bartman would be interviewed, and then he wasn't.

The biggest let down of a 30 for 30 was the Fantasy Sports one. The story itself was pretty interesting, but the director didn't seem to know what he wanted to do with it.

I'm listening to this $h1+ show. It's an embarrassment to baseball.

MLB must be really hoping that Toronto wins.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

I just was able to tune in so I missed the whole debacle. I have seen that play happen at least twice before, so it's definitely legal, but when did the umpire kill the play?

Before the runner crossed the plate.

Before the runner crossed the plate.

Just saw the replay. That was awful. He called it dead immediately. Not sure how you can still apply the rule after the fact. That would be like awarding a touchdown after you called delay of game because the offense kept playing.
