Somewhere in Japan, Ichiro Jones just hit a three run walk-off...

Anyone else see the Royal Giants jerseys the Mets wore earlier this year. Prescient.

Heart: Royals in 7
Head: Giants in 5

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

Giants in 5 because while the arc of history bends towards justice it is too long for a 7-game series.

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

So the Giants are in an interesting position. If you assume Bumgarner is the best pitcher in the post season this year, then SF has to win game 1.

Failing to win your best pitchers starts likely means KC wins the series, much like what happened to LA and Kershaw.

Joe Maddon has opted out of his contract with Tampa Bay. Who wants him? Who gets him?

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

Twins want him. Twins need him. Dodgers get him.

I would like to think the Mets are even now measuring TC for cement shoes.

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

Why can't anyone pitch 6 innings in these playoffs?

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

Royals another game closer to a championship after their 3-2 win tonight. Once again the bullpen dominated.

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

So Bochy confirmed Vogelsong for game 4 and Bumgarner for game 5.

Might be a mistake not giving Bum 3 starts. But we will see.

Don't know why, but I have a feeling that Maddon might not be as successful when he's managing a team that's expected to win. Or when he's in a market that gives a shid about baseball, complete with media types and talk show hosts that question your moves.
