Kansas City is on fire, extending their playoff win streak to FIVE straight games... stretching all the way back to 1985. :D

So I tried to watch the "blackout free" playoffs on MLB.tv via my AppleTV the last couple of nights. Was told that "due to the national blackout restrictions, I cannot watch the feed via AppleTV, but here is the radio broadcasts..."

So looking around MLB.com this morning, I find this: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/index_streaming.jsp?affiliateId=mediacenter#grid
Apparently Comcast isn't an affiliated partner of this blackout free experiment. Fcsking Comcast.

And I'm not a fan of the trend of "we'll stream TV to you, but only if you verify you have Cable..."

Kershaw is the first starting pitcher to give up 7 or more runs in consecutive starts in MLB playoff history. His postseason record falls to 1-4 with a 5.20 ERA. Perhaps until he has another decent postseason start the comparisons to Sandy Koufax can be put on hold. Koufax made 7 postseason starts (8 appearances overall) and was lights out each time they handed him the ball. My guess is the Cards are in Kershaw's head now and LA doesn't have a chance in this series. In fact if I were Mattingly and the Dodgers somehow get this to a 5th game, I'd give the ball to Greinke for game 5. Of course that would require a baseball manager to go against the grain so a snowball has a better chance in hell than that idea does.

I just want to know how the *ing the Cardinals keep Cardinaling. Every time they seem down and out, they somehow find themselves at the top again. For the last decade they've been doing this. At one point a few years ago their starting rotation was Kyle Lohse, Adam Wainwright, a pitching machine, the head groundskeeper, and the usher from section 305, and they wound up winning the division.

Tony La Russa would use his bullpen so fast and hard that even Dusty Baker thought LaRussa was too tough on pitchers.

And yet, here the Cardinals are, after stumbling into leading the division when the Brewers collapsed and the Pirates didn't step up, beating the Dodgers at home.

Can someone PLEASE do a horseshoectomy of every Cardinals player and front office staffer? They're long over due for a statistical correction of their good luck.
