MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Can we blame ESPN?
I'm going with that old stand by Bud Selig.

If it were ESPN, each team would start on a different day and they would all play their first game against the Boston Red Sox because OMG!TEHBOSIMREGSAWXKS!!!!!1111!!

According to Deadspin, the entire Apollo 11 mission would fit in between the first and last Opening Days this year. :(

Is that due in part to the Jays and Indians deciding to play 16 innings on Opening Day? :D

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Questions to be answered:

- Does Jen still hate the Cards now that LaRussa and Pujols are gone?

I certainly do not hate them as much, especially with Iron Mike Matheny as their manager - loved him as a player. Carpenter is still worth hating (although not when he's hurt), plus there's still the fact that they knocked us out last year, even though they finished behind us in the regular season. So I certainly don't LIKE them, as they're division rivals, but a lot of the hate is gone.

It's finally opening day, and a good start tied for the top of the NL East, but it's still early. Let's get 'em!

by the way, since RFK, Joe Robbie or whatever they were calling it, and the Metrodome no longer host baseball - is there a worse ballpark than Tropicana Field? If there is, I haven't been to it.

Doesn't Toronto still play in the Sky Dome? That's a solid D minus too.

The Trop is the worst, though. Not that we really needed another reason, but it's part of why that franchise should move as soon as contractually possible.

When Castro dies, we'll annex Cuba as a multi-purpose casino-resort-brothel and both FL teams will move there.

Sky Dome is now Rogers Centre, but it still sucks, even with the roof open.

Whoever did ESPN's ScoreCenter app is on crack.

It counted Evan Longoria's hit that scored TB's second run twice, and told me Alex Avila scored on a wild pitch from Jhonny Peralta.

My favorite ballpark ever is Milwaukee County Stadium. I actually loved RFK because it reminded me of it. I am also willing to acknowledge them both as dumps. :) I will never like Miller Park as much as I loved County Stadium.

Good to know; I'm not completely crazy then. :D
