Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

The Yankees and Red Sox are two of the three best teams in MLB. Too ***** bad. If you're sick of them winning, well, I certainly understand.

Thank God for Phil Hughes.

The Brewers are one of the most dynamic teams in baseball and had 3 players voted into the all-star game yet the last time I remember seeing them on ESPN baseball was against Philadelphia in April...ESPN is a joke, sorry if you think its perfectly awesome that ESPN consistently ignores the middle of the country (except for Chicago) unless they are playing Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Los Angeles or San Francisco. It disgusts me. I mean, Minnesota is going to be on ESPN Baseball tomorrow AGAINST BOSTON...as far as I can tell there will be 5 straight ESPN games involving Boston or New York. SOME OF US DON'T CARE.

Just to add, there are 2 leagues in MLB and the American League will be featured on ESPN Baseball at least 5 straight times...but sure, I'm just bitter, has nothing to do with the god awful slant of ESPN.

Not as big of a baseball fan as SG, but ESPN's selection of games is horrible. There's no range.

I don't expect you to care about Yankees-Red Sox. I don't care that you don't care. I just don't think you should say something stupid like "most the country doesn't care" when that very same thing can be said about whatever matchup is on ESPN.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

just sick and tired of the Yankees and Red Sox...one of them was on ESPN Baseball all week, and ALL 3 Yankees vs Red Sox games were on national tv...its annoying as ****

Just to note, Friday's game was not on national TV. It was on NESN and was not subject to blackout here in New England, so it wasnt "National."

I would prefer the games not be on ESPN. The coverage is horrible, announcers are terrible and the production isnt there. I like my games on NESN. Plus, games on Fox/ESPN take 4+ hours.

Look, I understand the Brewers are having a decent year. Good for them. Who did the Brewers play Sunday Night? The Astros? That just screams national game of the week. A 35 win team vs. a step child market to Chicago. That'd draw great. Monday Night baseball, well the Brew Crew is off Monday night so no alternative there.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

I used to watch the nationally televised games just because I love the game, now I don't even bother turning it on, ESPN has completely ruined it.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

I'm a Red Sox fan, and I'd also be happy if there were no national broadcasts. Unfortunately, there aren't enough Shirtless Guys, so the Red Sox and Yankees get good ratings and therefore they're on a lot.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

What really annoys me is when the major baseball stations (MLB/ESPN/Fox) have the SAME EFFING SERIES on all weekend. Obviously last weekend it was Yankees-Red Sox, but they've done it with other teams too. I don't personally care that much if the Brewers are on nationally, because I get all the games anyway, but for pete's sake, have some VARIETY.

The Brewers vs Cardinals is a hell of a rivalry and should have been on last monday, last wednesday or this wednesday, but no. And I do care about the Brewers not being on because I don't have mlb extra innings (because I can't) and I didn't get mlb.tv because brewer games are blacked out in virginia, mn (where I spent the first 3 months of the season and where I will get stuck the rest of the mlb season starting some time this week. Tell me how Boston vs Minnesota is a good matchup? The twins have given up, they are horrible this year...Thome isn't going to get 600 tonight. And yes, friday's game was on mlb network, I'm pretty sure mlb network doesn't have blackout rights like ESPN/Fox do.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Bottom line for the networks is ratings, they put the games on that will draw the most viewers and the allmight advertising dollars. If you are not liking the games they put on, buy the MLB package so you can watch whatever game you want.

I've already told you, the games I want are BLACKEDOUT where I am, so even if I pay the money, I can't watch them...its bull****

I live in Iowa. On any given day, up to 6 games will be blacked out (Cubs, White Sox, Twins, Brewers, Royals, Cardinals), even though at most 2 of those will be available locally on basic cable without any special tiers or sports packs. So MLB package would allow me to watch the Red Sox and Yankees, but not the teams I care about which aren't on national television. So thanks for advocating a worthless option.
