Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

The weather did in my car battery this week. On Wednesday night, when getting to the park and ride after work, the engine barely turned over, just enough to start. It did the same today, so I declared it dying and replaced it. My only question is this: How in the last three years did batteries jump some 47% in price? That's a bit outside current inflation rates.
Lead prices are up way more than inflation???

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

It's so icy outside that I feel like I should be looking for a way to take out the end guard in the 7th end of the Scott Tournament of Hearts. (Yes, I watch curling.)

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Techland has had 112 inches of snow so far this season.

I've been watching the amounts add up...it seems like they've 100 inches of that in the last couple weeks.

Where does one watch curling?

I get CBC because I live so close to the border. They had the Tournament of Hearts across the border in Kingston last year.

Very jealous. Never lived in a place that had CBC. People are always surprised to hear that Duluth doesn't have CBC...not close enough to the border.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Tomorrow is going to suck... Going to be 35*F and drizzle most of the day... And I'll be outside teaching snowboarding for at least a chunk of the afternoon... I'm sure someone is going to be dumb enough to sign up for a lesson...

Hoping that my work will let us wear our own outerwear instead of the crappy uniform jackets that we have... The waterproofing on them is absolutely horrid

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

We'll be driving through Chicagoland tomorrow. I hope the weather reports are right and the rain and freezing rain is done before we get there and that the main thoroughfares are good.

Which hill do you work at?

Right now it feels like a cold spring day down here. Residential streets are damp, but it's above freezing (36 on the Southside). 294, etc...should be fine.

And you're definitely not in the Minneapolis area because it's only 18 in Farmington. It's far from being overly cold, but we're not talking a "cold spring day" here.

Villa Olivia in Bartlett, IL... Not bad for a snow covered speed bump :p

And taught 2 lessons while it drizzled off and on for most of the morning... BEST CONDITIONS EVER :(

It was fine. Just rain. I'm in west Michigan right now and it's around freezing... feels so warm.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

The ice is getting really bad where I am. State of emergency in most of the county I live in and in St. Lawrence. Really dreading my ride home from work.

CBC is the **** for watching oddball sports and Olympic sports as well. That and they tend to just air stuff as its happening. Guess they realize that almost everybody nowadays came just record it to what it later when they want to, and if they want to be surprised by the results, well, they had just better stay in the **** bubble until they watch it!

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

A few dumb girls at the Christmas party I was at tonight were mad that I wasn't letting the Siberian Huskies inside. There were two reasons.

1.) They are nuts and causing all sorts of dog drama with the other five dogs there.

2.) They are made for much worse.
