Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Yeah but it meteorological summer :(

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

When I was talking to my dad (he's been a farmer all his life) last weekend, about the weather, he said this is like "the summer that never was" (which I think is just what local farmers in the area refer to it as) in 1992. There are already many acres of corn that are going to go unplanted due to the weather, and it now being too late to plant corn.

I just heard that elsewhere recently, too. In fact, I had just made note of it on the Facebook.

Seems that way in Maine also. Highs in the 50s. Rains every other day.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

This is the coldest spring/summer I can remember.
1992 was pretty cold and rainy, too. I remember something like 45-50 straight days that had rain and it didn't get into the 80's until sometime in July.

Could be. I honestly don't remember it. I was seven at the time.

We're supposed to get summer on Tuesday. That'll be nice.

Corn here in SE Michigan is looking kind of scraggly. I was starting to wonder if they was having problems with their planter and it not putting down enough seeds in the ground. Some of them are just now starting to pop up, and its been a couple of weeks since they've been in the ground.

That was the summer I graduated high school. That was a *ed up summer. I don't think it ever hit 80 degrees here. I remember working at a restaurant, at the grill, and never really getting warm like a kitchen could.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Lahd the wind and rain coming through right now is almost enough to make me duck and cover...

btw we have enough windows strategically placed in the house that if all open we can seriously limit the need for AC, but when stuff like this hits it takes some doing to close them all enough to prevent soaking the interior.

We were in the purple (or whatever more descriptive color the Sue fans would use).

I think the purple juuuuuuuust clipped me, but I was mostly in the dark red (inbetween 169/394 and Hopkins Crossroad/394).

Nothing more than a little light rain and some thunder and lightning here. Little to no wind.
