Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Yeah that was fun.

Lots of branches down. Guess trees don't like to hold all that heavy snow with a quarter inch of ice underneath it.

Down here in the south metro (or cake eater land) it was just rain and slush with snow on top, still isn't freezing yet. I went out and salted the sidewalk though so it won't be too bad in the morning.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I had to get into work really early this morning (7ish) and traffic was moving on 394W ok, and even 494N was moving ok. A few cars in the ditch, but The Fifth handled the roads like a champ.

Tip for new/bad drivers who are stuck in parking spaces:

Accelerate really really hard. It'll get you unstuck in NO time!

Morans. :D

Too warm for thundersnow here in SE Michigan, but have heard and seen some thunderboomers tonight. Also had the power knocked out for about an hour earlier. Just got done getting a sponge bath in because we need electricity to run the well here, and then it comes back on. :p

Have you thought about a standby house generator? When our local power company was as reliable as the Uganda Power and Darkness, I looked into it. Ran about 11K with installation, IIRC. Then the power company decided that trees next to power lines were a bad idea and cut them down. Now the tree huggers are offended, but the power stays on in bad weather.

Oh we have a generator. It's just that we hadn't bothered to pull it out and fire it up. We can only run part of the house with it.

What the c-r-a-p? Got over a foot at my house this weekend. Shoveled not once, not twice, but 3 times trying to keep it manageable.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I'm not arguing about this week's forecast. Wednesday has the weather guessers saying 72 right now.
