I can't say it'll be as fun to watch THOSE twins in 2010-2011, but it will be very interesting witnessing the likely considerable positive impact the GF twins have for the Sioux along with UND's other additions for next season. I fully expect some upward mobility in the WCHA race...how much is the question. Could be enough to put Idalski in the running for COTY...maybe.I thought the twins left Minnesota.....OH, you mean THOSE twins??? LOL
You are right, sir, she has worked extremely hard and has developed into quite the player. My bad for failing to include her.
And Rasmussen. My opinion is that while wearing the "C" she never did anything other than work hard and provide the kind of example to the younger players that you want your captains to provide.
Yes, I'd be shocked if West did not get the "C". Also agree that Schoullis, Schleper and Erickson should all be in the mix for "A" consideration.
Correct -- captains were not announced at the banquet, similar to 2009. Perhaps the reason is that they want the entire team, including the incoming class, to be involved in captain selection.
The junior class in particular has some excellent captain potential. Schoullis, a junior in terms of eligibility, will be in her 4th year in the program. A player such as Schleper who was an All American as a soph also deserves consideration. In any case, I'm thinking West is a lock to wear a "C", and it is just a question of whether she is joined by others wearing an "A" or a "C".
So...many qualified candidates. I look forward to seeing the selections...who / how many. It becomes my primary off season obsession...since we have a pretty clear picture of the 2010-2011 roster at this point.*Erickson
Schleper
I've stayed out of the captaincy conversation until now, but I'll chime in here.So...many qualified candidates. I look forward to seeing the selections...who / how many. It becomes my primary off season obsession...since we have a pretty clear picture of the 2010-2011 roster at this point.*

Had to pull this over CD...I won't attempt to squeeze you for that insider info, but...the 2010-2011 NC schedule and possible opponents is something I wanted to address in the off season thread. I was just wondering who might be NC opponents next season...who Gopher fans might like to see etc.I've had an insider look at the upcoming schedule for the Gophers. It indicated four non-conference games in October -- two on the road and two at home -- and then another two-game non-conference weekend at home in November. Since I don't know how finalized it is, though, I don't want to name opponents yet.
One thing I do feel comfortable mentioning is the off weekend in November -- probably to align with the Four Nations Cup tournament.
After the NCAA quarterfinal game, the Clarkson coaches mentioned that next season the Gophers would be the team having to travel, so might that be the road series? I would think that we would owe BC a trip there as well from 07-08. And we've also never been to Robert Morris in addition to Syracuse. But if we are only doing one road NC series ...The Gophers traveled to Harvard and hosted Clarkson last season...just hope we get some quality NC opponents in 2010-2011.
I'd love to see Harvard or Dartmouth come to Ridder. Each has a number of Minnesota girls that I haven't seen play since they were in high school.
Always great games to watch.I spoke to Coach Stone, and she has no problem coming out next fall for a set.
