Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

You mean Adam 1.965 GAA, 0.931 SV% Wilcox? What's it like behind Joel, 2.01 GAA, 0.928 SV% Rumpel then?

Actually not much trash talking in either case about the #10 and #11 goalies is there?

Rumpel is a goalie and Wilcox is, by definition, a sieve.

I suppose we could be logical, but I just wanted to hop on the generic joke train.

Where's Minneapolis's red light district?
Right behind Adam Wilcox!

(I just jinxed everything, didn't I?)

Remember we are talking to ground squirrel fans. They have trouble figuring out what you really meant by red light district and behind.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

BADger fans don't know the definition of the word sieve. Fans in madtown last year called Wilcox a sieve.....after he made a SAVE.:confused::confused:

Really? That's terrible. In the unlikely event he does it again I'm sure DC will get everyone to act more appropriately.

They've yelled sieve at our team after they've gotten scored on before.

My favorite of all-time though is Jup's story about how he once heard a Badger fan yell "quick, get the puck, their goalie left the net" or something to that effect on a delayed penalty call on Wisconsin. Classic :)

In all seriousness, it's always an awesome atmosphere when these two teams play, regadless of the venue. Expect the same this week.

I just looked it up:
sieve noun \ˈsiv\
: any goalie that is not playing for the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

So, it doesn't matter if he makes a save, lets in a softie, or is "petting" his goat. By definition, Wilcox is a sieve.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

Eaves really has his game up for this series, some excellent Eavisms.

Talking about how the Badgers have chance since they last faced the Goophers.

Looks like a good roast cooking in the oven. It takes a little time to cook. I think we're a better team than we were then.

Talking about how young the Goophers are.

A lot of times a little dog can bite you in the fanny as easy as old dogs. You've got to be ready for anything that comes your way, and they've done a nice job.

Well when you put it that way.....it's hard to argue with good, solid research like that.

I realize that even the pseudo-intellectuals among you like Harley and Stauber and maybe a few other drive by's, basically only rise to the level of stock boy at the Chippewa Falls Piggly Wiggly so I generally don't pay much attention to what you say, but astonishingly, Cap'n Beefhead here has alluded to something perhaps worth discussing as it's still only Tuesday.

Attention fans of Sparticus, the Uglies, Penn State and the other Uglies

Between the Ugly helmets and the other Ugly helmets... wait... the New Ugly Helmets?

Ok... Between the Ugly Helmets and the Nugly helmets, which is uglier?

First off, it's Cap'n Bonehead to you. Secondly, I misspelled sir Ohio State. Or is it Mr. Ohio State? I can never remember. It should read fugly. However, I'll accept nugly. To answer your question, I say the n/fuglies win by a goat's nose.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

I am embarrassed, for the State of Wisconsin, to announce there are still plenty of good.....or more like OK (it is the Kohl Center)... seats available for the games this week. I just checked and was offered second level Blue Line (Section 204 Row E).

Not all that long ago I couldn’t get a seat lower than the 300 level on the day the tickets went on sale. This is game week in February against the Gophers.

Gopher student section is organizing buses to Madison on Friday for students too, and it sounds like there will be a pretty good turnout of Gopher fans on Friday. Should be good atmosphere.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

I'd be concerned for you, but I imagine coming from Minnesota, you have a very high threshold for embarrassment.
I'm not sure about threshold for embarrassment and all that. I do know that here in Minnesota we have a lot of embarrassment for our neighbor to the east. It often becomes too much to handle.
