Minnesota @ Wisconsin : 02/15 - 02/17

I have seen you post that "at least 3-1" in attendance a few times. That is not what I saw at the game. I would have guessed 50/50. If that was the case your fans were sure quiet:)

By the way, nice of you to keep your band at home so to not get outclassed again by our wonderful band (BTW, 3 of 4 teams had their band at the game).

You're completely dreaming if you think it was 50-50. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. More like 70/30. Friend of mine I was with (Badger fan) was even counting the Badger fans we saw on the streets before we got in the stadium we saw so few.

And sounds like Gophers weren't given permission to bring their band as it was your home game and it would have required UW's permission. Gophers Twitter account Tweeted it out. But I keep hearing from Badger fans it wasn't a "home" game for you guys.

Classy of Miami to allow Notre Dame to bring their band by the way. I guess when UW isn't having fans show up to make noise, they needed the advantage of having the only band playing to give it a "home" feel ;)

That, and without a band, how would Badger fans know when to dance? They'd be left having to actually watch the game. :D

Funny that you took offense to me calling you Dubbie yet you continue to make posts like this.

Interesting.

A band?

***?

Given the constipated brand of hockey that Wisconsin showcases at the Kohl Center, I would expect that a pep band would be a prerequisite for attendance. Something has to keep the paying customers awake, right?

But jeez, really?

Your wonderful band?

And just how does one band "outclass" another?

We outclass them on virtually everything hockey related. They need to dig deep (evidently really deep) to find something.

There are three positions for any team to be in right now:

1. Out of contention
2. Need to rally
3. Could pee down leg

Previously, the Huskies have primarily been in position 1 at this point in the season and occasionally have been in position 2. They've never been in position 3, so your evaluation of likely scenarios is not based on any relevant precedent. If given the choice, I'm sure most teams would prefer position 3.

This is a beautiful synopsis.

You mean Purdue? Do they even have hockey?

Yes, I attended Purdue for my undergrad. I had to as Minnesota didn't have my major. Very clever of you. But I've had Gopher season tickets in my family my entire life. I have donated $$ to the University of Minnesota for years. I think I'm entitled to use the word we.

Now good day :)

What's that, vicarious pride once or twice removed?

Ummmm, even BADger homer Andringa commented when the Gopher fans chanted that it was the only cheering section that could actually make themselves heard all day and it was quite clear on the broadcast. My guess is you were typically just too blind drunk to hear the fans or comprehend what was going on around you.

Or he wasn't really there.

What? So you get to choose when your ridiculous arguments end?

Why can't you skate?

Oh, but I can. Quite well actually.

How's the ankle doing? Hope you're doing better. Got a stick in the eye playing men's league a few years back and that was the end of my playing days.

Doesn't it suck when one or more of the announcers seems to have a horse in the race? Gets really annoying and Andringa isn't even that bad. He does pretend at times to get excited when an opponent does something good.

Some of the regional/local pairings are just BRUTAL.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. :(

 I didn't complain about Andringa, he wasn't that bad. I just noted he's a BADger homer, which he is. I didn't expect anything else going in and he didn't bother me. It's not like he is the Hawk on Whitey broadcasts or something.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin : 02/15 - 02/17

speaking of announcers, I liked Doug McLeod. Very fair and I like his style. HUGE improvement over the last couple PBP guys for Minnesota, IMO.
