Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

Good dubbs!! I lurk and rarely post... Theres some great laughs to be had on a few threads.. I see the Gopher hate is in full force this season... Gotta love it especially when it comes from so many other Minnesota supported programs.. Ie the Minnesota Badgers and Fighting Canucks

Aside from that, not sure how SSP will do this year..

You have to post more often buddy :)

UAA and UA_ will be in the driver’s seat on welcoming who comes up. Coaches who banded together and refused to attend a luncheon when invited because they decided they didn’t need to waste their time with UAA or UA_ boosters and talk about their program. Athletic Directors who steadfast made these 2 teams pay for airline tickets and transportation to visiting teams and laughed when asked if it was fair and replied little guys have to bend over to the big guy’s. They dirt shot UAA and UA_ time and time again during their time in the WCHA and CCHA. You can bet some teams begging for some “free extra home games “will send a “Hey old’ Buddy Hook us up" Emails that will get a chuckle and a delete. Paybacks will happen.

Ha! Keep telling yourself that.

Re: Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

Are you implying that Minnesota ever did this? Somehow I doubt it. Lucia used to coach in Fairbanks.

Plus Lucia was an assistant coach at UAA before coaching UAF. Hey we should invite the rodents and sue for kendall/brice at the same time. :)

So, please clarify for me. Let's use the Gophers for example. Say the Gophers go to play a road series at Anchorage when they are in the BTHC. They get two extra home games for that, but those are offset by the home games they forgo. So they don't really gain any home games than they would normally have had if they had tried to fill out their schedule with all home games. Am I missing something?

if you play a series in Alaska it's 2 games that don't count for total games played so you can play 2 more games . Say Minnesota plays a home series and that's 2 more games at $30.00 a ticket (that's what I paid last year in Gopherville. so It pays to come to Alaska even thought the coaches play up the long flight, time zone and cold dark but never mention the extra revenue the program gets .

My Gopher tickets for the NoDak next week are $45 each.

Right, but if Minnesota chooses to not go to alaska and just play two home games that do count for total games played, they still play the same amount of home games and make the same amount of money.
So basically if the gophers are no longer required to play UAA, why would they?

Re: Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

We won't lose any sleep if we never play you again. And that....is the truth ;)

Wish I could say the same, but I hope the Gophers trips to the subarctic become (at least) a biennial occurrence. Most of my family lives on the Kenai, and I will most likely be joining them in a few years. I would love to be able to watch some meaningful hockey every once in a while, and only 150 miles away.

I wouldn't mind if they continued to play in Alaska, but what that guy is suggesting is insane.

Re: Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

UAA is dominating us again.

Yeah, don't you just hate that? ;)

But seriously, the Gophers deserved more that a one goal lead. Bjugstad had two open nets where the puck just hopped over his stick. Many rebounds that came out just out of reach of a Gopher stick. Hopefully the odds will start catching up and we continue to play mistake free. Just one and it's a tie game.
