Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

Re: Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

Donald has no comment on this series?

He's usually full of analysis (and himself).:p

I was/am surprised with the results of the series. I was thinking split. I think Anchorage has a pretty solid team, and the season is young..

Agreed. I think UAA will be a tough team to beat if they can bring the level of play we saw in the second and third periods on Saturday more consistently.

Re: Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

The sweep didn't feel as good as I thought one would feel, despite the revenge factor. 1. I think is partly because AA isn't the rival that other teams are in the league. 2. That a sweep here doesn't equal a sweep that knocks your team out of the NCAA's. 3. I feel like last year's loss was as much about the Goph's beating themselves by not playing to potential. Nice to see another sweep. Wish UND wasn't on opening of Deer season though.

Ditto, that and the fact I didnt get to watch the game.. I hate watching games from my laptop...

Re: Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

Agreed. UAA really did outplay them the second and third periods. Gophers looked a little gased too. Hats off to UAA.

The back breakers were the shorty that happened due to a great bounce for the Gophers, and a whistle that disallowed the tying goal for UAA. The Gophers are a different team than the one I've seen the past few years, I expect them to finish high this year.

Re: Minnesota vs. UAA - Vengeance (10/28 - 10/29)

Not going to re-read all the comments from this thread that I have missed since I checked on Friday afternoon. Just want to say, that was a tough series for AA. They deserved a win or tie at the very least but Patterson stole one on the road for the Gophers.

I don't know if anyone on this board is directly connected to the video feed. I doubt it but I just want to say thank you if anyone is. It isn't perfect and I know some people were making fun of it leading up to the games this week. For me, the video feed worked pretty well with only a couple minor glitches. It was a treat to be able to watch games in Alaska even if it was just online and I appreciate the work that was put into that allowed me to watch the untelevised games.:)

I can pass the word on to the group who is in charge of that. Glad you enjoyed the Student Run broadcast.

Yeah, I mean all that stuff would be nice. But like I said, it was just a treat to be able to at least see the games on any kind of level and I wanted the Seawolf fans to know that it didn't go unappreciated!

I agree about the broadcast, it was very nice to be able to watch it and the quality was one of the better feeds I've seen. Also the guy doing the broadcast was outstanding and not a homer at all (Kurt Haider?) he was calling the game very fairly.

Yes, Kurt Haider. Haider is good at what he does. He's like the anti-Joe Buck.
