I see Hughes being similar to Pavano (good, not great), while Nolasco is a wild card, but certainly won't be worse than what they had last season (and probably will be better). Couple that with their offense getting back to average, and I think this team has the potential to get to .500. Ultimately, I think they finish somewhere in the range of 75-80 wins.

FWIW, ESPN has them pegged at 69-93. Personally, anything under 70 and they should clean house.

Can't hit. Can't field. 100 losses. Pitching isn't everything AND that's all they did.

I saw Nolasco pitch live yesterday, his offspeed stuff was really working well.. Should be interesting to see if he can stay consistent. Swarzak was good in relief too.

OPENING DAY!!

Game starts in a little under 3 hours. Nolasco will be on the mound for the Twinkies. Hopefully it's a good start, and it would be nice if the Twins could give him a little run support. :)

They lost the opener last season but won the series 2-1 vs Detroit. Being that this year its Chicago I hope they sweep and score 25 runs a game.

Chicago is certainly not as good as Detroit. It would be nice to open the season with a series win, and Chicago should be a good test to see where we are.

Of course, Pitching is usually better early in the season, as it takes batters a couple weeks or so to get used to everything. So, I won't get too excited if our starters put up decent numbers early on...nor will I get too upset if our hitting doesn't come around right away.

That being said...25 runs/game sounds reasonable against Chicago. :p:D:D

If a team loses too many games for too many seasons, can the owners be sent down to AAA?

Yeah, that was rough. The Twins can't afford to lose games when they: 1) score 6 runs or 2) have 2 run leads in the 9th. Hopefully this is just an odd blip for Perkins. If not, this could be the first 100 loss season in over 30 years (1982) for the Twins (and only the 2nd ever since they moved to Minnesota).

Hey, look at the bright side. You could be the Yankees and have a payroll 3x the Twins and be down 0-2 in your series against the Astros.
