Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

The Twins pitchers were certainly not helped by the fact that their backup shortstop was playing left field. Regardless of what was wrong with Arcia, he would have been better out there than Bartlett.

Yeah, that was pretty awful. He pretty much single-handedly kept the Indians in the game.

Colabello with 11 RBI now. :)

I ask the question again, over/under 324 RBIs this season for Colabello? :p:D:D

Home opener couldn't have happened on a better April day. Should be gorgeous today.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Anderson comes out to tell Correia he is doing well in the contact dept. as its 5-1 in the 3rd.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

A buddy sent a pic of Target Field during the game, and it looks like a very poor showing for opening day. I remember when it was almost impossible to get opening day tickets. Speaks to the quality of the team, I guess.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

I still don't get the day games during the week thing here. This isn't Chicago, where there are enough people that aren't working during the day to fill up a stadium.

Still, opening day should be full.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

Looks full on tv.

The upper deck was about 50%, about 60% of a section along the 1st base line in the lower deck, one of the last ones. I couldn't see the outfield bleachers from his shot, but it just looked like there were a lot of tickets still available or being opening day.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

5000 short of capacity; I can't remember opening day being that bad.

This team's pitching is absolutely garbage. The A's face tougher competition in BP.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

I was going to say it wasn't bad, until I saw that the only two teams that had opening day attendance (in raw numbers, not % full) worse than ours was Tampa Bay and Oakland. Even Miami pulled in more.

Again, these aren't percentages and I could have missed a few teams, but not good for the front office...

If enough people stay away that is good. Don't reward the organization for their cheapskate ways. I want to go see a baseball game, but I don't want to support the Twins. I think we'll try to catch a game in Milwaukee at some point when we're down there.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2014: The Quest for .500

The final out was on a pop-up, and the batter stood there in the box watching it, and the catcher tripped over the batter and so the batter was out on interference?

I feel like I've seen more straight-up weird stuff watching this team than anybody else. You could almost predict that a Twins-Royals game in the 2010's would have this play! :D
