Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

Dickey is a 1 year wonder. How's he doing this year? Oh right, under .500 and ERA well over 4.

Dickey's career in the AL: 30-38, 5.26 ERA, 1.511 WHIP. Yikes
Dickey's career in the NL: 39-28, 2.95 ERA, 1.150 WHIP.

Last year was the only year in his career he'd topped even 150 strikeouts. One year wonder indeed.

A 38 year old knuckleballer struggling in the AL. Wow. Will wonders never cease...

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

The Brewers have the NLs best bullpen. They have several quality bats as well. Braun, Segura (all star), Gomez (all star), Aoki. Even Lucroy is hitting well at catcher.

How does Milwaukee's bullpen help Gomez' hitting?

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

Can we make Andrew Albers the new pitching coach?

Like someone said on GPL, you can't teach what Albers has.

Also, I swear to Parise, during the handshakes, Albers said, "No sh*, eh? F* yeah!"

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

You mean talent? :)

I was pumped when they got Worley and Pelfrey. Worley was great, and Pelfrey was a solid 3 or 4 guy. Then that went all to hell. All. To. Hell. There's talent there otherwise, but something is being lost in the works. Dunno what yet.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

From the Game notes last night:

So either we never score, or suddenly we are a HR hitting team.
They were talking about it on KFAN this morning. The last 5 games, all runs (22 of them) have been by home run, and they've gone 4-1 over those games. Huh, who woulda thunk? It helps to hit for power!

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

I haven't been less interested in a Twins team in 10 year. God they stink.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

Twins Bullpen softball makes it 6-6! I think it only took him 2 pitches to give that up.

Re: Minnesota Twins: 2013 Season Thread

First of all, I would like to say thank you to all of the Twins fans. I would also like to thank the Minnesota Twins organization for giving me a chance to realize my dream of being a Major League baseball player. I was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1999. Since that day I have been very proud and fortunate to call myself a Minnesota Twin.

I was a wide-eyed 22 year kid when I made my big league debut in 2003. I received a warm welcome that day and have felt welcomed ever since. I feel like I was a kid when I first got here, but was able to grow up in this organization and become someone my friends and family could be proud of. My wife, kids and family are Minnesotans and this has become my second home. Minnesotans are some of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met.

I am sorry that during my time here we weren't able to achieve our ultimate goal of winning the World Series, but I will forever carry many wonderful memories of my time here. I will always cherish every day I was lucky enough to play in front of you fans in a Minnesota uniform.

Thank you for all of your support throughout the years.

It was cool to watch when he arrived in the dugout. The coaches shake his hand of course, and the first player to him is Liriano to give him a hug.
