Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I like the comments in the strib that blame the coaching for the losses.

Coaching is a small part of the outcome - the vast majority of the responsibility falls on the players to execute. Is it Gardy's fault the team is 0-for with RISP in this series? Or that the Yanks are something like .500 in the same situation?

I'd like to thank the Twins for not bothering to be competitive tonight so I don't have to watch in agony as they blow it.

Yanks continue getting hits with RISP.

The only threat MN had (and it just happened) was two on and one out. Cuddyer strikes out and Valencia hits a harmless popup to the infield to end the inning.

We have a threat?

Kubel is awful in the postseason

Well we did.

Well this shall be an interesting offseason. Twins fans are getting tired of the postseason ineptitude.

Rivera will come into the game and do it efficiently. It's not so much closing out the game as it is an execution.

Good call.

Offseason begins...

Will Thome be back?

Cannot think of any other questions at this time..

I could see Thome coming back. The role he's in is perfect. Doesn't really play, just goes up and sees if he can jack one once in a while.

He certainly hasn't lost his swing. Given how little he costs and the power he has, it's a no-brainer to ask him to come back next season.

Pavano will become an FA, and it's time to entertain the idea of extending Delmon. Aren't Hudson and Hardy both FA's as well? It'll be interesting to see what they plan on doing with Capps when Nathan comes back (hopefully healthy).

I just don't know why I bother caring sometimes. It's the same thing with this team, they see the Pinstripes and they wet their pants.
