Gardy has already said health before home field, so I don't find it shocking I guess. Though I'm sure they'll still be looking to win games down the stretch.

But again, don't do it at the expense of the pitching staff. How many guys have been used in the last two games just to get to the ninth? I understand they want to rest a few guys, but it will be a moot gesture if there aren't arms left in the bullpen.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I got selected in the lottery for ALDS tickets, did anyone else? I get to buy 4 tickets to 1 of the 3 games, and I have to do it between 10 and 6 today.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Tampa Bay, New York, and Minnesota are all 5-5 in their last 10 games. had the Twins made any effort at all to win games this week they would be 2-3 games clear in the race for home field advantage in the ALCS.

Maybe it won't matter, but it would be nice to have that in our back pocket as we head into the playoffs against two teams we struggle with in recent years.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

I've decided to take a chance and buy tickets for game 5, even though there is a chance it might not even happen. But if there is a game 5, it is the one that I'd want to go to, and it is the one that I think I might actually be in town for...

I got tickets to games 1 and 5 (not through the lottery)

Got 4 tickets to game 2 of the ALDS. Section 330.
Nice work.

I'd sit 3rd level for a WS game, but not for an ALDS. First round isn't exactly an "I was there" type of series.

Maybe that makes me a ticket snob, so be it. :p

They're left field upper level seats, so not bad seats at all. Plus, we're close to the rail so that's not so bad. I've never been to a playoff baseball game, so I got no complaints.

Especially when they make it to the ALDS just about every year and are done after that....

I had to go to close on my house at the same time ticket sales went online, so my sister was going to buy the tickets, and I sent her the email I got from the Twins, with the code in it. She got through and picked her seats and sometime between seat selection and entering credit card info there was some kind of error with the ticketing website, which sent her back to the beginning of the process to start over. The second time the code didn't work, since it was only supposed to be a one time use thing. :(

I hope they're employing the 1987 version of how to end a regular season.

Your sister belongs with MNS with a bricking like that.

What has two thumbs and is going to games 1 & 3 of the ALCS? This guy, right here.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

Six to nothing in the third against KC? Six to nothing in the third against KC?!?

Wouldn't game 3 be a road game? Or if the Twins don't have home field, game 1 could be a road game.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600

You know what I really don't like? Some pitcher with a 6+ ERA walks the first two batters of an inning, nowhere NEAR the plate, and the next doofus up (DELMON! ) waves at a pitch two feet outside and grounds into a double play.
