Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

I'm sure the storied histories of professional sports franchises in Minnesota has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Delmon and I are fighting again.

Same here...

I finally came around and said I was pro-delmon and then he goes and reminds me why he's been in the doghouse... What a dolt.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

So...once again you must not like Span either right seeing as he is just as prone to be doltish in the outfield.

SOH,

I like your honesty :)

Twins will take this division by a laugher. :D

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

I'm willing to cut Delmon some slack since earlier in his career he wouldn't have been within 20 yards of the ball, he simply didn't know what to do. :)

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Tim Laudner looks like he ate Sal Butera  ;)

Span started off higher than delmon. so delmon has that working against him.

Plus span's offense has been significantly better than delmon's over the past few years. Including his ability to take a pitch or two.

Granted delmon is improving but he's back in the doghouse after a brief glimpse at immortality.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Yeah but who cares about last year Span is still hovering around .250 so he deserves no slack so far. Plus he has no arm in center and honestly doesnt have the greatest range.

His range is galactic compared to delmon's.

Span is also taking a hell of a lot more walks.

I care about last year. It bought him more slack. Delmon's past few years have cost him a lot.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Uh huh...you just keep repeating the mantra that Span has that much better range...hey btw I have this great investment for you, it is this nice bridge in San Fransisco, a bit pricey but I think we can work something out :D ;)

(neither of them have any real glove to speak of)

And Span may walk...but who has struck out more this year AND who has the better average? ;) :p

He has five more strikeouts but 11 more walks. Don't try and play that game.

Average smaverage. Delmon young has wet dreams where he takes at bats as good as span.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Good at bats are worthless if you get out :D

I like defending the players everyone hates :D

False. The lead-off hitter, while his primary goal is to get on base, has the secondary goal of taking long at-bats to show the rest of the lineup what they're going to face. The twins broadcasters finally caught onto this this year.

Again, to use a stock analogy, delmon's IPO was much lower than Span's coming into the year. So yes, it does affect his stock for this year.

After the first at bat the "take a lot of pitches" thing is BS. It is EVERYONES job to have long at bats.

Are you really Dick Bremer? :D

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

whatever.

You are right, that was mean no one should ever be called Dick Bremer that is just wrong :)

Although, I reserve the right to bring it back if you ever say anything like "Jason Kubel is the most dangerous lefthanded hitter in baseball no one knows" ;) :p
