Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

1.) I don't wear panties
2.) I didn't say this is game was for all the marbles...but that's just semantics...since that's how you read it. still, something I didn't say.
3.) every game still counts.
4.) It's very Craig Dahl of you to be hoping for a series win after we've already won the first two.
5.) The Twins should beat the Brewers any game because the brewers are god-awful.
6.) Now that GE's self-worth is dependent on a Twins victory....go brewers. ;)
7.) JJ Hardy sucks.
8.) I'm not displeased with the Twins performance thus far in the season. They've done alright. I really don't think they're a World Series contender though. They're missing something...? I could be wrong..it's happened once before.

They've done "alright"? They're tied for second in the american league! What kind of standards do you have?

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Why is good enough...good enough? Are Twins fans becoming Braves fans?

Isn't success in the playoffs better than just making it?

As someone who watched SCSU beat NMU in a NCAA Playoff Game, I can assure you (with all my experience in post-season success now), it is.

It really is.

Sure it's better. Did I say it isn't? I'll go back and check my comments to make sure I didn't though ;) .

I just don't have the mindset that the twins are going to (or should) win every game ON THE ROAD against three of the best teams in baseball. Where two of the teams have payrolls that are nearly double (or more than double) the twins. Sorry.

All that matters in the regular season is winning the central. After that ANYTHING can happen. As was mentioned by one_to7, the mariners won 116 games and got bounced right away. So like I said, sit back and enjoy the ride. It's a long summer.

Love all the mouth-breathers talking about Rausch like he's a big pile for blowing a lead...even after Rivera and Papelbon both did the same thing last week. Settle down. It's a marathon...not a sprint.

Also, Morneau is a stud.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

What game would that be: hockey, basketball, or tiddly winks?
The hokey pokey. It's what it's all about.

Having a solid 1-5 rotation will generally give you great regular season success, but it doesn't tend to give you the best one in the playoffs. Having #2 or #3 starters across the board will help you get into the playoffs, but having a surefire ace or two is what will win those playoff series for you (schilling and johnson anyone?)

Cain and lincecum should scare the crap out of anyone facing them in the playoffs. The regular season tends to be a war of attrition; wearing down players and pitchers and making teams' depth come through. With all the days off in the playoffs it's not quite the same.

Either way, I'll be shocked if the twins don't make the playoffs, so we'll see how they fare this year. Although if things keep going like this, tampa will be the team to beat - not new york.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

This team is an absolute joke with runners on base.

2nd-3rd with no outs, and you can't push a single run across?

I don't know why Gardenhire continues starting Kubel as the DH - he clearly can't hit for ****.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

So what *is* MN's average with RISP? And if you know....where can that be found so I don't need to ask?

MLB and baseball reference either don't have it tracked, or I can't find it.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

We have someone hitting .210 and another hitting .190 in the lineup today - and that doesn't include Butera.

I think MN is 1-9 w/ RISP today. Hell it might even be worse than that.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part II - The Franchise Strikes Back

Surprise, surprise... We're seventh in the majors. Everyone needs to settle the **** down.

That won't win you the World Series!!1!1!!!! We need to trade our prospects NOW or give up and trade away Morneau and Liriano and start to rebuild!!!!!!!

We should just contract the team now to save the pain and anguish for everyone in the five state region.
