The difference this year is amazing. Crisp, tape to tape passing, and NO STUPID PENALTIES. The MSU tradition of getting a penalty in the first minute, followed by another 8 or 9 as the evening progresses, seems to be a thing of the past!

There is no doubt this is the most fluid I have ever seen the Mavericks look! Even in 2003 when they were going so well, I think they were so top loaded on that team. So much balance on this current team! Things are looking up

I have to make it to a series in Omaha! Won't be this year tho.
I think a split will likely happen but if someone manages a sweep it will go a long way to home ice advantage.

They don't, just saying that's the easiest 6-game conference stretch you will see all year.
And CCFC, we came close to getting 0 points, but we took 2. How'd you guys look in Cloud?

That was then, this is now. It's an entirely different looking squad. It takes a while for a new coach to get his line combinations together and get the guys into his system. I'd be happy to have a rematch now.

We looked/played terribly... Not sure what your point is. 2 games in a 20+ game season really doesnt mean much. The Mavericks are beating them teams they should reguardless of their talent level. Thats a good sign and I'll take it. I'll be the first to agree that we need wins against UNO, Denver and other top tier teams. We played Denver strong but that means nothing if you get 0 points. We will see. Either way I like where this team is going and feel like we can play with anyone.

By no means are we the best team in the WCHA or world beaters, whatever. But to say the only reason this team is enjoying success recently is a weak schedule is ignorance at its finest.

Definitely. Like I said in the other thread, a split is an absolute necessity.

Any Kato fans ever been down to Omaha? The fam and I are going to make the trip down. I'd love to see at least a split this weekend. I really think if our boys play like they have been the last few weekends (especially the last two) a split or better is VERY realistic.
