He just gave a chunk of coin to the other school in Moorhead (Concordia College) for a building.

Agreed. It wasn't my intention to bash Minnesota high school hockey. Just to point out that IMO the Gophers recent troubles haven't anything to do with the other colleges in the state.

Adding Moorhead would be a boost to college hockey after a difficult week. Hope it happens.

Absolutely agree on all accounts. The Gophers problems were the result of poor recruiting, development, and coaching and adding Moorhead to the mix would be a wonderful thing for college hockey IMO!

I'm pretty sure that didn't bankrupt him. From the people I've spoke to he was a huge advocate of having a D-I squad in the F-M area when MSU-M first announced that they were exploring D-I 3 years ago.

Sweet. I already have a Dragons shirt for when they make the tourney. We are short on mythical beast mascots, outside the "Seawolf".

Sheels Arena seats over 5,000 for ice hockey and features 40 suites and 300 club seats. It features an Olympic-sized ice sheet and one of a handful of arenas with rounded corner glass sheets.

Miss Moorhead sounds like a James Bond villain

At least they seem to be doing this right. Hopefully they will be able to get business support to help fund the endowment. It'd would be interesting to see if they would make some sort of deal with initial donors that would guarantee them season tickets/box suites for the first few seasons.

I'm sure if they also do a few no return trip NC games against UND, Minn, and Wisc that will be easy income to initially fund the team.
