Minnesota State 2022-23: Life After McKay

I went to Mullett in November (against UAA). Jumped on tickets as soon as they went on sale. Seems it's the "thing to be seen at" in Tempe right now, so resale tickets have gone way up. Easily the most expensive in college hockey right now.

Frankly, I thought their ticket prices were outrageous. But I bought them anyway, as did lots of other MSU fans. I'm looking forward to see their new arena. And as long as I have family in the area, I'll attend every time the Mavs play out there.

If this is the local 'face time' hangout at ASU, I wonder if these games will be a sold out. Looks like classes are in session right now.

There are nothing but resale tickets available on the ASU tickets app, so, yeah. It's sold out. Pretty sure they're sold out the rest of the season.

Great article for reference for anyone traveling to Tempe for a hockey game. I would add:
The Coach House (bar) for an overwhelming sensory overload when the Christmas lights are up & on (most all the time),
Los Olivos for arguably the best Mexican food in Scottsdale & has been there since the 1940's, just a block from Old Town.
Rusty Spur - a ritzy dive bar with live music in Old Town.

I arrived here in Scottsdale on Tuesday. Those of you on this site heading to AZ this weekend, can we rendezvous at the MSU rally Saturday at Dave & Busters? Would love to meet all of you in person.

Alternatively is there a gathering place before the Friday game?

Be glad to! Is there a place within walking distance of the arena? I'm staying at the Hyatt nearby. I assume they have a bar?

Ugh....injury updates yesterday. Morton out for.season, zmolek likely out for season, tassey coming soon, but they are taking it slow to make sure he's good, sowder had surgery to clean something up.

been a while since we've had this kind of injuries.

Dave & Busters is about a mile away from Mullett

Will have to find a ride over after the MSU gig on Saturday. Today I'm going look for Purple in Nebraska at the Hyatt as well as any other Mav fans staying there. Hyatt looks to be a short walk to Mullet. Hope that's the case.

Nice win by Mavs last night. A couple of concerns though. No pp goals on their numerous opportunites, and those sloppy giveaways in their transition game. Seen those problems before. Hoping for an improved outing tonight. Anyone else?

Ok, I screwed that up. There are 2 bars in the Hyatt, 1 on ground level, and one roof top, accessible only by room key. We went to the roof, and only realized later you couldn't get there. If you're at the Game this coming Saturday against Lake State, come to section 215, Row J, seat 9 and I'll buy you a beer!

Your team totally dominated the second game. I think the Mavericks were better in game one than the score showed. Too bad both teams had key players out due to injury, but that's sports. Congratulations going forward, hope we play another series next year!

I listened to the MSU radio broadcast. They mentioned a couple of interesting things.

The first is that both teams want to continue scheduling each other. The second is that CCHA commissioner Lucia attended the series.

Not sure how much you can read into Lucia attending. I'm sure he has a travel budget, why not see how good the Mavericks look o.o.c., esp. January in Arizona....

Lucia has said in the past that expansion was something that should be considered if it makes sense. Augustana will start next year as the ninth team. Not ideal- an even ten would be preferable.

Most of us on this board would have preferred to stay at 8.
