Minnesota hosts Wisconsin: March 2-3 - MacNaughton in the house

Never heard of him.

Since the other two Minnesota hockey historians/enthusiasts/spokesmodels (Dubber & Mooch) are ahem, having a timeout, I suppose you're going to now enlighten us heathens in regards to Mr. Chorske's great contributions to hockey as we know it and how he has had a hand in a least a few of our titles? ;)

:p:D:p

PS - It appears that Mooch is permanently banned? What about Dubbers? What did he do and is he gone for good?

-hoping-

Nah, didn't mean it like that. Chorske had a long NHL career and won a Cup with the Devils, so I was just surprised people didn't know who he is. No biggie.

I agree. It wasn't just passing. It is like they stored up all their poor friday night play from the last three weeks when they played well on Friday and dumped it on last night's game. I can't figure out how you come in with a chance to wrap up the title with a win and put in that effort. (Although from what I heard of the UMD game on the radio, UMD was pretty much no-show through at least the 1st half of their game too.) Maybe they were to reliant on Bjugstad. In the first 2 periods, there was almost no one crshing the net, and the goalie gave up a few juicy rebounds with no Gopher in sight. A player would come down the wing, have the option of leaning into the D and powering to the net, and every time would peal back to look for a pass, that almost never resulted in a shot on net. I hope that changes tonight.

I don't pretend to be versed well enough in line-ups to be too critical of Lucia's choices, but thought maybe he'd put Haula on the first line to have a chance to step up and become a leader in Bjugstad's absence. (I realize this messes up more of the other lines.)

By the way Scoobs, haven't read through the posts to see what you wrote, but I return my 16.6%. Might change if they come out flying and bury WIS tonight, but for now, they don't deserve it. They need to take the title with a win tonight.

This. Well said.

Maybe someone whose job it is to do intermission interviews regardless of which team's player it is.

Really, who really wants to talk to a paint thinner sniffer off a 9th place team, anyway?

You're a nice guy--too nice for Gurt. He'd say "never heard of him" if Chorske was married to his sister. Come to think of it, though, I think he really thought Herb Brooks was Bob Johnson's plumber.

In the spot where it says "registered user", it'll either say "suspended" or "banned".

Banned it is.

Must have been a fun thread to get both of them banned.

How does a person know who's in the box? There should be a wall of shame showing the names of those in prison, their crime, sentence, and time served.

If FS23 can hurry up and finish school, perps can hire him for appeals and early release.

:p:D:D

Well, law jobs are somewhat difficult to come across these days, but I don't know if USCHO Public Defender would pay the bills.

he is an ex-hockey player. How many have you seen become great rink side interviewers?

I'm sure they could get you free hockey tix. Hang on to the Cavalier, don't eat out much, watch lots of college hockey, keep a few of your brethren out of trouble--what more could a man ask for? You might even be able to earn a few extra bucks working for the prosecution on Gopher fan cases.

Funny how losing to us always translates to boring. Turn off the TV or go home if you're there. Style points are for figure skating. I didn't see Zingerle's move as boring. Totally awesome!!!

I've watched the Minnesota Wild play. I know what boring looks like.

Wisconsin likes to watch paint dry, leaves more time to inhale those paint thinner fumes.

Let's see if we can just put this tangent to bed. I realize that it's a Minnesota broadcast, but thought LaPanta and Gorg did a good job being objective in calling the game. That's why I was a little surprised that Chorske didn't at least acknowledge the goal that Zengerle had just scored like 5 mintues earlier. That's it, nothing more.

I miss the days when they had the mixed Gopher/Badger broadcast booths. A lot of b-llbusting back and forth was always amusing.

It's a Minnesota broadcast, so I'm really not sure what you're expecting. It's not going to be equal coverage, and I don't really think it should be. Just saying.

This is all my fault. The Gophers are 7-0 when I am in attendance this year. And yes, I have been at games on Fridays. Sorry guys.

Piped into the Gopher locker room today.

it was more evenly covered than usual, and it that's probably mostly because of the score. Still quite a few backhanded compliments going UW's way, but it's to be expected. It's sort of like watching cable news or ESPN and expecting balanced, agenda-free reporting- there's no point.

If anything, it beats the alternative for us Badgers: if FS-WI had to send their own crew to cover it, everyone east of the St Croix would be watching fishing reruns.

MN Lines for tonight's game - #27 is back in the lineup. Which is good.....unless you're a cheezewhizzer.
