Minnesota hosts Wisconsin: March 2-3 - MacNaughton in the house

Re: Minnesota hosts Wisconsin: March 2-3 - MacNaughton in the house

Nice game Becky.

Thanks Jan.

Gophers, please pull your heads out of your asses sometime before 7pm tomorrow.

Someone go check on Scooby.

I'm out.

Wisconsin sure knows how to play Jacques Lemaire style hockey. Good job. Not only the worst game of the year for the Gophers but also the most boring.

+1

The style does win hockey games.

Good question. You'd think a conference championship would be enough incentive. Heck, you'd think a rivalry game would be enough incentive.

In my view, the hardware on the line tonight is not the issue. Personally, I couldn't care less if they win the Mac or not. Keep in mind, Wis. is playing their best hockey right now and the Gophers weren't in sync tonight; and didn't play to their potential...it happens...move on. I suspect tomorrow will be much different.

LOTS of puck battles lost, not our typical effort back-checking, and just poor effort all around. I agree, Wisconsin played some inspired hockey, but the Gophers looked pretty brutal.

I agree though, these types of games happen. Just not the time of year you want to be dealing with this.

IMO, the Gophers were not mentally in the game they looked like a bunch of zombies.

Plenty of paint thinner and deer to go around in Sconny tonight I'm sure. :)

Woohoo! We're above .500!

Baby steps...

I am going to assume Lucia did not play Bjugstad tonight to protect him. If he can play tomorrow night, he should have been able to play tonight then too. I think Lucia is a great coach, but he sent the wrong message to the team by sitting his star. That message was we don't need him tonight, but if we lose he is in the line up tomorrow. I hate it! The gopher power play was rocking lately too, and now all momentum has been halted.

I'm not sure exactly what the deal is on Bjugs, not a lot of info coming out so who knows...

But yes, he is crucial to our post-season hopes.

Or he has a concussion and they can't tell anybody.

He said in the pre-game that if it was a playoff game he would have probably played. I'm not convinced that sent the wrong message, but I could see that argument being made. I'd rather him get the extra day if it means they win tomorrow and finish the WCHA playoffs strong rather than risk him aggravating what he's got even further.
