Re: Minnesota hosts SCSU: 11/27 & 11/29
Seeler leads the Gophers in blocked shots and his physicality has been a welcome addition to the depleted defense this season. But I was extremely disappointed in his placement of that hit. I've personally seen my share of bad hits and that was clearly malicious. I'd like to see him suspended for a game for a clearly targeted contact to the head with an intent to injure. I didn't see the SCSU player who took the hit, was it Niklas Nevalainen? I hope he's ok.
Not only was the hit stupid, but it basically gave the game away to a tenacious Huskies PP tonight who put the game out of reach at 5-2 on that 5 min PP. This is Gopher team that does not have the killer instinct to come from behind. Leon Bristedt continues to impress me with a goal and assist tonight increasing his total to 7 goals on the season. But a sweep at home is a tough pill to swallow for the coaching staff and I think they'll be some extra reps this week for the boys.
Seeler better be getting some time off after this blatant head shot.
