Well how cool is this?

Yes, the rumors are true. Gary Thorne will do TV play-by-play for the #mshsl Class 2A boys state hockey tournament.

The walking goal orgasmatron. Who's doing color and Class 1A?

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey Section Previews and Predictions

Locla radio guy Jim Erickson is doing play by play and former Gopher Ben Clymer is the color man

Ben was brutal when he started on the FSN broadcasts but he has really rounded into a fine, professional color guy this season.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey Section Previews and Predictions

So big sectional finals (and some still in semi-finals) this week. I plan to go to Mariucci Wednesday for the Section 2 & 6 AA finals. Anyone else?

I was thinking about it until I saw that I have class that night. Boo.

The upsets last weekend really killed those two games. I doubt you see much in the way of crowd or quality of games on Wednesday.

Edina vs. Jefferson and BSM vs. Eden Prarie won't draw? Wow!

Not as well as Edina-Burnsville and Wayzata-EP would have. That would have had probably the three highest enrollment schools in the State playing at one place.

I think the first game will be more entertaining than it would have been without the upset as BSM has more offense for the big ice than Wayzata. The second game he's right, Burnsville would make a better game than Jefferson.

Stunned that Stillwater beat WBL in OT last night. I was not impressed with Stillwater a couple weeks ago when I watched BSM handle them with ease. Also sorry that Kennedy got knocked off last night in OT. My kid played AAA with a couple of the Kennedy kids and after they beat Jefferson I had hopes they'd do something in the single A tourney.

No final WBL/Hill final at the Coliseum, unfortunately. Cool for Stillwater, though.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey Section Previews and Predictions

Class A starts today. Up first, undefeated Luverne vs. #2 Hermantown. I'm actually interested to see Luverne play a real team.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey Section Previews and Predictions

Hermantown up 2-1, Luverne has been in this for most of the period, though.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey Section Previews and Predictions

Now 5-2 as Hermantown pulls away.
