They'll get the chance to prove themselves at the Hilltopper, and that's about it. If West does well there, and makes the state tournament, they'll likely be a top 5 seed.

Posted the result of the second game, as well as scores from last night's spotlight games. I have been working on some computer-based rankings using record and strength of schedule. Not sure how it will turn out, but thought it would be fun to do. I know others (smarter than I) have done this as well. Will post the rankings for Class A first later tonight.

Depends on how they do there for sure. Would't surprise me in the least if they did well. They are off to a great start. I'm basing my stuff off pre-season predictions, and for that reason don't feel right about changing them now. No doubt you guys have a strong point on West though.

I hear he's already on the short list in Grand Forks, after Hak's flop of this season. Based on the fact he's actually coached real people instead of only playing a video game!

Either BSM is down or Holy Family finally has a signature win with a 7-3 pasting.

BSM is definitely down. Heck Minnetonka might even be able to beat them when they meet Jan 11 at TCF Bank Stadium.;) It looks like they will be the trial run for the rink at TCF. But Holy Family is getting better and are not bad this season, in spite of their earlier butt kicking from Edina.

Just read that final Shots on goal favored Benilde 54-29 and there are serious rumblings regarding the G position.

The goalie isn't going to steal many games but he didn't cost them that one either. I left after 2 but I wouldn't put the loss on him ( starter was pulled after first).

Holiday Tourney at Edina this week is going to be a great one. Edina, Elk River, Eden Prairie, Grand Rapids.

Also, posted my third game prediction for tourney simulation. Link above. Been posting rankings for a week now, but because it is so early it has been fluctuating quite a bit as single games have a big influence on strength of schedules with so few games played. Should settle down in the next few weeks. For those wondering, the rankings use a combination of RPI (Win %, Opp SOS, Opp's Opp SOS) and Team's Strength of Schedule. First year I've done these, so this is more or less a feeling out year. I'll make adjustments if necessary over the summer. Rankings posted on main high school page.
