Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

Read a tweet tonight..

"Farmington's back up goalie who's a senior started tonight, was tied 2-2 & scored on his own net flicked off the coaches and went off hahah"

Here's another one: "Witnessed the craziest goal I've ever seen. Farmington goalie stops a would be icing, turns and shoots it into his own net. Walks off ice."

Hey, anyway my alma matter can get a win in hockey...we'll take it.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

So he decides to screw over his team because he was beat out for the starting job?
Real classy move there.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

From what I read, this might be a bigger issue within the team with many of the seniors not playing as much as they'd like to be and the goalie was just the one who expressed the displeasure. This was obviously pre-planned given there is video of it and students hooting and hollering when he does it. Plus his teammates didn't even seem to care.

Plus that thing is going to be tied to him forever. I wonder if that will come up when he is job searching in the future.

Oh man...

Whatever the reasons, that's not the way to handle it.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

How about the parents?

Who knows, maybe they thought it was great.
My first reaction was that the parents were probably going nuts. Then I remembered, through my experiences coaching hockey, that a kid like that may have been inclined or encouraged to do something this idiotic by his parents. (Or that the parents would approve of such behavior)

As a coach, I'd be so frustrated. I don't know the situation, but this was his ninth start, and it was on Senior Night. Something seems odd.

Sounds like there was a lot of issues between both goalies and their families, so they may have found it great.
My favorite part is he acts like that and wants to go into the Marines.
Hopefully he'll see how well they like non-team (unit) behavior like that.
