Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

Also, if they fed her alcohol and she was drunk then there can be no consent.

Which was pretty much an every weekend thing "back in the day" (minus video cameras of course)

I'm just glad everyone wasn't all uptight and pc back when I was in HS.

Again, I don't know about the involvement of alcohol, but I think violating the girl's expectation of privacy is worthy of ALL SORTS of punishment. That is a humiliating experience. Two games is a slap on the wrist compared to the emotional damage that girl potentially suffered.

2 games isn't as small when you think about playing 25 games. It's morally wrong, yes, but is it illegal? Maybe trespassing? Not sure exactly what else you could say?

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

New rule in Wisconsin HS hockey this year - if your team accumulates 3 checking from behind penalties in a year, your team is ineligible for post-season play. So far, 2 teams (I'll try to find out which) are already ineligible. Does this seem like a good rule? I vote no.

NJ has a rule where if a player gets 2 DQ's in a season he's done for the post season. If a team gets 3 DQ's, the team's ineligible for the state tourny. This is for all sports.

In WI, is it 3 CFB DQ's or just 3 CFB's?

I'm pretty sure it's the former

Thanks for the info. Lot of the same teams at the top as when I lived in the Twin Cities.

Re: Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

Does anyone know where to find video highlights of HS games? the game that Shirtless and I were at last night (STA vs. Tartan) looked like it was being broadcast on the web, there was a camera setup, and a play-by-play guy calling the game, but I can't seem to find where it was broadcast, much less find any highlights from that camera we were standing next to.

There isn't a highlight cut up of the game but it was broadcast by MNSportNetwork and here is the full video:

“I think it will be fun and exciting,” Bjorklund said. “We are a little nervous, because nobody really knows what to expect at this point.”

Added Thomas: “You are going to see some crazy passes, and heads up because I don’t know where the shots are going to go. I think it is going to be a fun night.”

This quote is pretty amusing and telling, "crazy passes"? "don't know where shots are going to go"?

huh? we all used wooden sticks just fine throughout the 80's, me thinks junior has been 'brainwashed" by all the OMFGBHDJDTYEB those composite sticks are WAY BETTER!

Have you ever used composite sticks? I made the switch from wood to composite sticks and I can tell you that it's a big change. They handle entirely different from one another. They're going to underestimate the angle of their passes and shots. Comps are much more responsive, so you produce less torque through your body than with wood sticks, and let the comp stick takeover to give your shot that little extra snap.
