You'll enjoy Szmatula. Really good 3 zone player and has a motor that never stops. He didn't get the same headlines but you could certainly make the case he was a more consistent and better all-around player than Roy the last 2 years. He can't seem to stay in one place for more than a couple years, but that won't matter here.

Northeastern has an AD, Peter Roby, who would be terrific for your Hoops program. He's a wheel in the NC$$ basketball scene. You're welcome to him. Hurry!

As for Szmatula: He can be an excellent player. Fun to watch. Unfortunately, his word (or his signature, for that matter) can't be relied on. If someone makes him a better offer between now and the time he has to register at Minnesota ...

As many points as Kloos in less games. Sounds good to me. Not a big guy but should be a big contributor. Nice to get a guy who has proven he can play at this level versus the crap shoot of getting a guy who might have trouble adjusting. Any word on what his stated reason for leaving NE?

(Besides being bigger, would have been nice if he had a name like "Smith". Could take me most of the rest of his eligibility to remember how to pronounce his name.)

He didn't want to go to NU originally. It pronounces like it reads. Just ignore the z and you're close enough.

Could have used him this year...but will be a good patch as this year's crop matures and until the Wait, Middlestadt, Reedy group gets on the ice.

I guess we can stop worrying if Austin Matthews will play for a rival, or secretly wishing he will have an epiphany that leading the Gophers to an NC is his destiny.

So has a projected number one pick from North America ever chosen Europe before?
