I see a few suspensions happened tonight, must have been a fun night. :)

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

That's a little too parochial for my taste. IMO this is a special time to lay down this type of rhetoric. Each team worked their butts off for this and deserve fairness and equal celebration time. It's the right thing to do.

Sorry, this kind of sad line of thinking is why participation ribbons exist. If you want it, win it. If not, deal with it.

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

Except that we didn't win it outright either. I get that we're the defending champs and the Cup goes through us but we've won it more than a dozen times. This is SCSU's first time. I believe the Cup should have been in Madison for the Huskies to celebrate with it. All of that being said, I don't think it takes away from the very respectable and monumental accomplishment the Huskies acheived. Good job SCSU, you earned it?

I have absolutely zero issue with the cup being with the team that won it outright last year. It's like the Ryder Cup. If you want it back, you have to win it outright.

If the cup was in Wisky tonight, I wouldn't have *****ed. I would have been ecstatic that we had a share of the WCHA title. I wouldn't have cried like a bunch of whiny SCSU fans are doing tonight. It's pathetic.

So jan fans are made because they didn't have anything to put their Kool-Aid into? Makes sense. :D

I can't argue with that. I know I wouldn't have said a thing as long as we won our piece of it. That being said, I think comparing the WCHA regular season with the Ryder Cup is a bit of a stretch. No worries though, we hang another banner in Mariucci. It's a great day to be a Gopher fan! YES!!!

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

I see.

Too funny, and JDubbs wasn't involved.

Even MORE surprising. Neither was I.

Congrats on the Cup although I feel unclean for (my team) helping.

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

That's where the suspensions happened.

S

There was some funny stuff there, I have to admit.

I know the Cloudies are mad they didn't get to touch the Mac, but we did already have it in our possession and hadn't lost it yet.

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

Does anything taste better than drinking the tears of Jan fans out of our cup?

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

I guess I made the cut. Wow.

Anyway, SCSU should have been able to skate with it last night. My issue is with them still obsessing over MN, per their Jan rep. Guys, celebrate. You won it, you made history for your school, be happy. But nope. Jan gonna Jan. *sigh* (c) Scooby

They did win it...that's the point. In fact, SCSU had already clinched at least a share of it on Friday night, the Gophers had not. Therefore, the WCHA's decision to bring the Mac to the Gopher game for a post game celebration was a bit risky on their part and secondly, from a business standpoint a completely inappropriate slap in the face to SCSU. SCSU fans have every right to be upset. If UND had won their share, they should have made some noise too. McLeod screwed it up.

This is the last time I'm going to say this: you guys don't matter. It could have been UND, UNO, Denver, or the Red Army. We should have skated with that trophy. The fact that it was Minnesota is a complete afterthought.

Our anger has ZERO to do with MN.
It would not have mattered who had the Cup and then tied us.
Not everything is about you.

Sorry, we still haven't lost the cup.

How do you know the WCHA made the decision? It's not the WCHA's cup. If anything, it was Minnesota's or Tech's decision.
