For "C" and or "A" in 2014-2015...
Ramsey?
Bona?
Kessel?
Others?
I could see that. I could also see Ramsey with the 'C' and Bona and Kessel with 'A's.I'm thinking co-C's Rachael Bona and Rachel Ramsey
I like this option. Not claiming to be superstitious, but I think we have had co-captains every time we were national champs.I'm thinking co-C's Rachael Bona and Rachel Ramsey
It wouldn't even necessarily be superstition; it could be that having equal captains at the top is the optimum configuration for this team.I like this option. Not claiming to be superstitious, but I think we have had co-captains every time we were national champs.
Hoping for a clean sweep for hockey!
I'm surprised, though, that Sara Moulton (softball) didn't get a nomination.

Evidently Mens Hockey is considered a Winter Sport and Womens a Spring sport. Some Big 10 Spring awards announced.
Hannah gets a Sportsmanship award: http://www.gophersports.com/sports/w-hockey/spec-rel/052914aaa.html
Seven honored as Academic all Big 10: http://www.gophersports.com/sports/w-hockey/spec-rel/052814aaa.html (No men hockey players from any big 10 school made the cut, it appears.)
As long as I'm posting, might as well include the next highlight from the top 10 for 13-14: Hannah getting a hat trick on three pretty plays: http://www.gophersports.com/sports/w-hockey/spec-rel/052714aaa.html

So...should have a little competition for goaltending minutes / starts in 2014-2015 eh?
Yes, that's what I think, too. Should be interesting. The goalies seemed to have a pretty good club last year kneeling on the ice together after the games. Will real competition for playing time change that? I hope the little shakiness Leveille showed in the Frozen Four will turn out to be a growing experience that makes her better and tougher. I think the red shirt was evidence (along with the fact they recruited her) that they have high hopes for
Leveille was told she is their goalie. I'm afraid we might see yet another great girl sit on the Gopher bench along a few Miss Hockey finalists.....anywhere else these girls would play and thrive as a hockey player. But the Gophers just keep them off the market and away from the game they love and played most of their lives.

So the competition is over before it even starts for the goaltending position for this year or are you referring to last year? Also, if I'm a Miss Hockey finalist does that guarantee me playing time at the college level? Or is it a sure thing that I would thrive as a hockey player If I had chosen to go somewhere different?

Leveille barely played as a freshman and played as much as any UM goalie last year. In more than one season, the goalie that finished the season as No. 1 wasn't in that position at the start. I'm not remembering any kids over the years that never got a shot at being a regular skater. Flug was the only one on last year's roster for whom it could at all be argued that was the case, and she was hampered by the injury to start the season and still had a few series where she was on a top-three line. The situation seems more dire at some of these programs that have 25-30 players on the roster. For a player at any program, I'd say that if you think you deserve more playing time, prove it in practice. These coaches want to win and will play those who offer the best chance at doing so.Leveille was told she is their goalie.
